MF Lightning Sorc!

Well, I need to know a few things, MAINLY: How much damage will chain lightning and lightning do when I max the following: Chain Lightning, Lightning, Nova, Charged Bolt, Lightning Mastery. :shocked

(Asking for damage without plusses from items.)


Gear:

Helm: P Topazed Shako (74% MF)
Gloves: 28% Chancies
Boots: 35% MF 50 def magic greaves.
Armor: 3 Socket gothic plate with 3 flawless topaz. (60% MF)
Belt: Gwrap (30% MF)
Rings: 26% and 19% Nagels
Ammy: 24% MF Ammy

Before you bash my gear:

Im working on getting Skullders.
Looking for War Travs.
Looking for a 30+% MF ammy w/ resist all

umm...for a light sorc you will have some energy problems and sojs are highly adivised (imo).
i use the tal set-up: armor, ammy, belt, 2x sojs, shako, travs, 180 mf sword, 100 mf shield. occy and lidless are on switch for teleing.

20 lightning
20 chain lightning
20 charged bolt
20 light mastery
4 on nova so far

without items i do
3-4647 lightning
3-2931 chain lightning

www.d2skills.com USE THIS SITE its aweseomeness, maybe not the most acurate numbers (as it is SOMETIMEs off) but it will give you en estimate of how good your dmg will be. and it factors in synergies. so thats what i use to plan a char.

If you don't have much +skills gear, don't bother making a MF sorc. My sorc that I had - had around 250 mf and did 16k Lightning and about a good damage Chain Lightning. That's working on mainly +skills, and mf coming after.

Personally, I think lightning sorcs are best for countess runs, in which you wont need mf gear.

BTW, why not get 4 topaz armor?

16k lightning damage? How many +skills did you have?

its more of the +X% lightning damage from facets, griffs, and what not than skills

Actually, when I could use a 20% Lightning +2 Eschutas and a 15% Lightning Ormus, my damage actually went DOWN as opposed to Occy/Vipermagi. It was pretty PRETTY gay.

Weird, because I tried the SAME gear on a friends sorc and his damage went down the same amount also.

I didnt use that exact gear, and my light sorc is extremely under-developed so

Its not ONLY a PvP char.. think about it:

Few monsters are light immune.
5.5k Lightning damage, costs 18.5 mana.

Here's another update on my partially finished sorc:

Level: 69
Skills: 20 Lightning - 20 Chain Lightning - 11 Lightning Mastery - 4 Charged Bolt - 2 nova (Without Gear)



Skill Damage (Using MF gear) Lightning: 4-4550
Chain Lightning: 2-2449 (9 hits)



Stats: 85 strength, using Mahim (+10 to all attributes), and shako (+2 to all attributes) i have 97 strength, the requirement for Skullder's Ire.






50 dex

200 vitality = 700 life with gear

50 energy = 700 mana wuth gear

GEAR:
Helm: Socketed Shako w/ P topaz in it.
Armor: Skullder's
Gloves: 34% Chancegaurds
Boots:35% Magic Boots
Belt:Goldwrap
Amulet:Mahim-Oak Curio
Ring 1:Nagel Ring (27%)
Ring 2:Nagel Ring (26%)
Shield: Lidless
Weapon: Blade of Ali Baba



Charms: 29% Gheed's, Six +11 to life charms,


It all ends up around with 350% or more MF.
