i use silence for my smiter. steel is good for beginning ladder. crescent moon i'm thinking about using for a shockadin for lvling.

yup... i use steel on all melee chars when i start leveling... silence, well... not much on lddr, ist and vex are too expensive, and crescent... very nice runeword lol ^^

i had to find crecent moon, that was a total bitch, it took me 2 weeks to find because im too lazy to make (and b/c noone saves 30s elite 1h weps). i ended up gettin a conquest sowrrd =\/...i wanted a pase blade, zerker or ws..o well

Crescent Moon is a great weapon for a Lightning Sorc. Makes them do soo much more damage for me. -35% resistance, feel holy shock.

Crescent moon is teh best runeword for a Shocker Paladin, especially if made on a Phase blade.

Do you MF? Or have friends that could help you? That's what I would do if I was in your situation. Patience helps here, because if you wait long enough, you might MF something nice, that can help you get a Crescent Moon or the runes you need.

well the runes arnt the problem its the wep (and i cant go to larzuk..hel give em 6 sockets) ..and no i dont mf, im wierd that way

Then just find a 3 socket Seraph Rod with +3 holy Shock and +3 Zeal or charge and you're set. (Superior is nice, and it doesn't have to have 3 sockets- as long as it has none or 3, you're set.)

Silence can be very useful in some builds like Smiter. BotD isn't so good as Silence (or Kingslayer) for a Smiter.

But now it's a really rare runeword to be seen on B.net, i concurr with you on this.
