| Fire Sorc Strat Never had I had any idea how much damage these things could do until I tested a few strats of my own on single player (using an editer and legit items to test mind you). Well, my fireball does 8095 damage and my meteor does 16k...impressive. I don't see a fire sorc strat in the sticky, so I suppose I will post my own. This is my first strat BTW, so don't kill me for it Stats:
Strength: Just enough to wear your gear.
Dexterity: None. Unless you want to use Wizspike...but I prefer other things with +skill on it.
Vitality: All you can muster.
Energy: I put 135 on mine, it keeps me from running out of mana while tele and everything...so it does me good. Gear:
Occy - Gotta love those 3 to skills. The boost in energy and res is also good. There are weapons out there that add to fire skill damage, but screw that...
Frostburn - Again, mana is a very good thing.
2x SOJ - +Skill and mana...lovely.
Shako - +Skill plus a hell of a lot of mana and health...
Tals Armor - Making our sorc a tank, shall we?
Tals Belt - Gives you 10FCR when you have it with the armor. Good edition.
Rising Sun Amulet - Adds good fire damage, plus skills, :wub
Lidless - Such a staple...SS takes too much str, so we will stick with this one.
Wartravelers - I wasn't sure of the boots, so I just threw these on for a little more touch in Vitality.
You are going to want some res charms, fire skill charms, and of course our lovely Annihilus. Skills
Firebolt - 20
Fireball - 20
Inferno - 20
Meteor - 20
Teleport - 1
Warmth - 1
Frozen Armor - 1
Fire Mastery - Rest (this is such a godly mastery...) Strats
Well, this one is pretty simple...just use your fireball on your right mouse and fire whenever you are waiting for your meteor to splash things to death. In PVP, just fire meteors all around you and stand in the fire if they are melee, and if they are ranged just tele and use fireball, meteor wont help you too much except for the splash.
I'm still kinda new with Fire sorcs, so if anyone wants to add anything and enlighten me, be my guest.

| Hmm...where to start....where to start...
I suggest you sacrifice some skills (inferno) to get a higher Warmth. Warmth is a staple of your build, because if you have enough points in warmth, you can negate all points into energy, thus yeilding more life in the long run.
You need 105% FCR. If you don't, well, you won't have it. 105% FCR is a must for me, one way or another.
For Gear, I would go with (**** resists, that's what a Merc is for)
+3/20% Fire/30 Energy Eschuta's [5/5 Facet]
Shako [5/5 Facet]
Lidless [5/5 Facet]
15% Fire / Fireball or Meteor Ormus [5/5 Facet]
Mara's
SoJ x2
Arachnid Mesh
Silkweaves
Magefists
With a Perfect Lidless, this will give you 15 MPK, which is very nice and handy.
Try to aim for Fire Skill GC's, and fill the rest with Life/Mana/Resist Small charms. Get a Holy Freeze Merc from Act 2 Nightmare, level him up, and you're set.
Don't forget a point in Static/Teleport.

| You can go for the fcr breakpoint and use kao's gear with ormus, or you can stop at the previous bp and use a Chains of honor dusk shroud instead of the Ormus and a 3x 5 / 5 faceted Headhunter's glory, which can be very useful for effective fire damage.
You will have less fcr, but you will have tons of more resists and very good damage.
Remember a crucial thing if you don't go for resists: you need 75% resist lightning in hell (so you have to use small charms for it), or burning souls will kill you very fast. |

| Those are all good points, and Cert pointed something out to me that is very good as well.
Max out Fire Mastery before Inferno, the fire damage isn't QUITE as important as your Fireball damage and your Meteors initial hit.
This is great, we are making a multiuser strat here .gif)

| Heh. Well, I don't suggest maxing inferno. I would go with something like
20 Fire Bolt
20 Mastery
20 Fireball
20 Meteor
1 Tele
1 Static
All rest --> Warmth

| Yeah, but having (just random figures) 500% Regeneration as opposed to 200%? And, the more regeneration = less points into energy = more life = survive longer.

| I hate the gear setup, and I hate the inferno. I'd put your inferno points into warmth I guess if you think about it.
As for gear..heh..I'm a whore with gear..I use the same setup for all sorcs:
Helm: Shako
Armor: Tal's
Ammy: Tal's
Wep: Occy
Shield: Splendor (it's a lidless with mf..duh..)
Ring1: Rare/crafted caster or soj
Ring2: Rare/crafted caster or soj
Belt: Tal's
Boots: Travs
Gloves: Chancies or Frosties (depends on how much MF ur happy with)
Now if it were PvP I'd go with the fire dmg/resist gear that djnat suggested.

| Personally, I would use this setup on a PvM firesorc, if I had all these items.
Stats
Str min for gear (Troll nest is 106, so subtract 5 from mara, 20 from coh, 10-20 from annihilus and eventually other bonuses from boots if they have any)
Dex base
Vita all the rest
Energy base
Skills
MAX Fireball
MAX Firebolt
MAX Meteor
MAX Fire mastery
1 Static, Teleport, Shiver armor
1 to pre-reqs
All the rest into Static (if you want more range), Inferno (if you want more damage after meteor's impact), Warmth (if you want faster mana regen) or Teleport (if you want a low cost tele).
Gear
Shako [Fire facet]
Exchuta's 20% fire [Fire facet]
Headhunter's glory [3x Fire facet] (if you want more mf use Rhyme or Splendor)
CoH Dusk
Arachnid mesh
Magefists
Silkweave / Waterwalks / Eth SS Trek / WT are ALL decent options (go for wt only if you're interested in mf)
2x SoJ or SoJ + Wisp projector (this ring is very nice for baalruns when souls are around the corner, and for the magic find)
Mara
Annihilus
Fire skiller grand charms
35%+ Gheeds if you want to mf
Resist lightning / life small charms to have 75% lit res in hell
Optional Call to arms + lidless in switch, for the warcries (or just have a barb in party .gif) )
Defiance or Holy freeze merc. Tank gear: you want him to be alive as long as possible.
It's interesting to notice that this sorc can be very damaging and have high mf even without sacrificing too many "damage items" in gear.
In fact you have:
20-40% mf with gheeds
10-20% mf with wisp
30-50% mf with WT
25% mf with CoH
50% mf with Shako
additional mf if you use Rhyme / Splendor
additional mf if you use small charms with mf
You can have more than 180 mf with the "damaging" gear, and this is pretty interesting for a strong killer / damage maker like a fire sorc. With 180% mf, you'll be fine, cuz you'll double your odds of getting an unique item in the game.

| I'm with djnat on this. Tals gear is just...meh. I'd rather have more skills (damage), and better resists. Only sissies use tal's in PvM because they A) Don't know better, B) don't have enough to get better items, and C) are just ignorant.

Besides..I only build sorcs for MFing and with my setup I have 543% MF. With 2 nagels I'd have around 575+..
I'm sure you could make some substitutions in there and lower your MF to around 300 and do more damage..which is probably a good evened out gear strategy, but I don't give a **** about damage enough as an MFer to deck out my sorc that's used for the sole purpose of finding gear. Hell..I think doing forge rushes with my pally is more of a payoff anyways.
