D Clone

Err...can someone please explain who/what D clone is? I just started playing recently. Someone told me it's just a powerful version of diablo or something, but where is he?

He spawns in HELL GAMES ONLY where any super unique monster is such as Rakanishu, eldritch or act 3 council. He has 95% all resists even to pysical and uses armagheddon as one of his attacks. He spawns when the SOJ sold count goes up and reaches that certain number.

Ok...so basically he's "hell" to kill (lame joke music) can you explain what you mean by the "SOJ count" or whatever it is you said? Sorry, but it kinda went over my head. And would it be foolish to actually wait for him to spawn or does he spawn every couple of hours or what?

It will say something like this in gold letters:

(insernt number of sosj here) Sojs sold to merchants.

It will say it in a Hell Game and at the very top of your screen where you usually see text when you talk.

People wait for him to spawn, but for me he usually stops by on accident, like in a MF game or something.

Each realm is divided by servers, each server can host ANY kind of games.
What I mean by kind of games?
Well for example you can be in the server .134 in sc/classic/ladder and in hc/xpac/noladder.

Which means:
You can sell sojs in nonladder to get an annihilus in ladder !

So the world event is an SERVER based event and not a REALM based even as most people think.


Here's a guide for all those people asking how to get the Diablo Clone in your game.

1. Make games untill you find the desired active IP

2. Pick a favorable spot to fight Diablo. This is limited by the nearest superunique, since the Clone spawns as this monster. (I use Tristram because of all the buildings and easy quick cover).

3. Camp out NEAR A LIVE SUPERUNIQUE MONSTER (because when world event occurs, Diablo Clone will spawn from the NEAREST Superunique monster... Griswold for Tristram, Rakanishu for the cold plains, and so on) and wait for SOJs sold to build up until the world event (this can take any amount of time, you will just have to have some patience and wait for it).

4. Assuming the Clone DID spawn where you wanted him to, go kill him. Else, search in the entire act, he must be somewhere.

5. Kick the Clone's ass.

EXTRA INFORMATION

The SOJ count does go up due to how many sojs are sold on the realm! Just because you sell one and nothing is confirmed by seeing the message doesn't mean your's doesn't count, check the count next time and if it's 298 before, it'll be 300! However, you cannot see the message by just selling an soj to a merchant right after the count message has been seen. So if you get off on seeing the count message go up, sell an soj roughly every minute.

The Diablo Clone is a simple monster. He appears to the nearest Super Unique you are located next to. So if everyone is camping in town waiting, he will appear in the Den as Corpsefire, if you're in act 3 He'll prolly be meph, and act 5 means he's one of Baal's minions! MOST COMMONLY.

Diablo Clone CANNOT appear more than once in a single game.

The SOJ count resets with each new game, so if you are in a game with a high count and the clone hasn't been killed, stay in that game.
NOTE:The soj count for that IP remains, but it will need a larger number to trigger the world event again. (+100 sojs average)

You cannot have more than 1 charm on 1 char.

For ease of finding him, just have everyone stay in town in act 1 until he spawns.

As for EXP,theres no exp gain. Besides, even if it was who would really wait hours to kill him for lvls?

Same steps to find him.

He gives no experience at all.

He doesnt drop annihilus or ANYTHING, no drops at all !

So dont waste your time with him on classic, unless for fun.

Quick question about the SOJ count.

Can it go up even if noone is selling SOJS?

When they made dclone.. were they figuring on just ridding the realm of some dupes or what? :P

2+ years of off and on playing, still havent found my 2nd soj.

no....... it cant go up automatically, u or others must be able to sell sojs

Hrm... that was an extremely debatable point early on in 1.10... where are all the sojs coming from? Surely ladder cant have thousands of sojs to sell on in yet...

well, like it said, as long as your on the same ip or whatever.. i dont feel like re reading it right now, they still count towards soj count right?

Ive had games that it goes up a couple of times, then stops.. what numskull sells a few sojs then stops?
