My personal favorite is the lightning sorc, because with an infinity merc she is probably the most capable of the 3 elements or hybrids.

There are probably guides in the stickies, but meh.

stats

str: enough to wear gear. My sorc this season needed 45 base str to wear a monarch (156 str)
dex: either go for max block (check the stickies for calculations) or none. i went with none
vit: everything else. I have like 500+ vit on my sorc
energy: none. ever.


skills

20 lightning
20 chain lightning
20 lightning mastery
20 charged bolt
20 nova
1 static, 1 telekinesis, 1 warmth, 1 lightning storm, 1 frozen armor

With all skill quests done, you will finish this build @ 95 (what my sorc is at, at the moment).

gear: I'll post a few options you have, *'d is what I use

weapon: eschutas* for damage, occy for mf all around better stats (eschutas will add 1k light)
shield: spirit monarch* - 2 skills, 55fhr, resists, fcr, vita, mana, all around greatness.
armor: coh (ap* and ds are best options), tal armor (used with ammy and belt), 35/um'd viper magi
helm: shako*, griffons (probably better), rare/magic circlet (3light, 20fcr, 2os. etc)
ammy: rare with skills, res, str, etc*. maras (if you need res, my build didn't), tal ammy (if using armor and belt)
gloves: chancies for mf, magefists if you need fcr. I went with rare gloves that I liked with 13str, some life, and some fire res (to make up for the lack of fire res on spirit)
belt: tgods* (vit, str, sorb [i hate souls]), arach (probably better, fcr, skills), tal belt (with armor and ammy)
boots: war travs, treks* (mine are eth), water walks
rings: soj, bk, nature's peace, nagel, raven frost, dwarf star. I keep most of these in stash depending on what i'm doing, they can be a life saver.
Switch weapon: cta flail/cs [mines 6/5/1]
Switch sheild: random spirit monarch for the +2 skills

Inventory: sorc torch*, anni*, light gcs

merc

weapon: eth cv/ca insight, eth cv/ca infinity*
armor: shaftstop, levi*, efort (working on it :/)
helm: vamp gaze, andy's visage*
