what to build?

Hi al,
I have been out the game for at least 3 years now. I'm looking to play the story through on normal for the story but then go pretty hardcore levelling and be able to do magic find quickly etc etc. I am more interested in PvM atm. diablo 2 LOD

what build and character would you recomend to me for the current patch?

cheers in advance,

gRanty!

Although I'm more of a mod-player, I'm pretty damn in love with Poison Necros. I can't really claim to be all that familiar with how well they do in regular LoD, but they were always pretty hardcore in the mods I've played...

I don't know how good psn necros are for pvm...

The obvious choice I think is a hammerdin. There are guides in the strategy section.

Well your character depends on your playing style.
I would suggest the following as a decent first character, that can do well even naked.

Summon Necro (can solo anything any difficulty)
Hammerdin (Almost no immunes in the game)
Orb, Meteor, Or Lightning sorc (Of couse)

If your looking to mf IMHO go with the Sorc to tele, but, Hammerdin after you can get an enigma.

Hammerdins are way overpowered in 1.10 - 1.11, and with the proper gear can do alot of damage, while still having decent amount of MF to find good gear.

a hdin is NOT a good choise unless you have gear.

since your starting out, and want to play through the entire game just for story, id suggest a summon necro.

it can also help you gain a bit of wealth to build a new char for faster mf (doing pit runs is about ur only option, the rest is crazy hard in hell)

but yeah, norm mode for story = necro all the way, ezpk style.

well I decided on a hammerdin since I really hate necro's, always seem to make one and get sick of summoning ****.

As far as gear goes I guess I will just have to be patient. all part of the game

mfing will be very difficult with a hdin w/o enigma pit runs can be tough too (small areas = bad hammering)

Wow, um, it's a runeword that lets the wearer tele just the same as the skill for sorcs.
