Cleric Build
If you are looking for something odd, this is for you.


The Cleric is a very unorthadoxed build, due to the fact that you are away from the action. The main objective is to heal those in your party, and help them to kill more effectively.

With this being said, your merc must be used to combat anything and everything that gets close to you. Don't worry, because with the Prayer/Meditation aura as well as Holy Bolt maxed he will never die.

Skills:
Defensive Skills
Prayer - 20
Cleansing - 1
Meditation - 20 (main aura)
Salvation - 1
Defiance - 15
Vigor - 1
Redemption - 1


Combat Skills
Smite - 1 (remaining go here)
Holy Bolt - 20
Charge - 1
Blessed Hammers - 1
Holy Shield - 20

Smite, can be used as your attack to stun those that get too close, then let your merc take over and kill it.

The skill Meditation give a huge recovery rate to your mana, and all partied with you. On top of that if you max out Prayer, it will also grant a huge recovery to life since it is Meditations synergy.


At clvl 20 meditation looks like this:

Meditation

Prayer: +25 Life Healed Every 2 Seconds

Current Skill Level: 20
Radius: 36 yards
Mana Recovery Rate: +775 percent
Heals: +25



Now you may be saying to yourself ... "heals 25 life every 2 seconds isn't much, prayer gives more alone." Well, the gear is very +skill oriented which can raise the life regen rate to extreme amounts, and it takes up no mana to heal others, like Prayer does.

On top of that, you can use Holy Bolt to target anyone that needs a quick heal.

Helm - Shako (Ber) Griffon's Eye (Ber)
Armor - Enigma Dusk, Chains of Honor Dusk, Gardian Angel
Belt - Arachnid Mesh
Boots - Sandstorm Trek, Silkweave
Gloves - Dracul's Grasp
Weapon - Heart of the Oak, The Redeemer, Hand of Blessed Light, Wizardspike, Spectral Shard
Shield - Exile, Spirit Monarch, Hoz (Ber),
Amulet - Seraph's Hymn, Mara's Kaleidoscope, Metalgrid
Rings - Stone of Jordan, Nature's Peace, Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band

Weapon Switch - Call to Arms
Shield Switch - Spirit Monarch

Charms:
Hellfire Torch
Annihilus
9x Defensive Pally Charms
Life small Charms

Merc:
You have 2 real choices here depending if you want to go more on the attack or stand back and wait till the enmy comes to you.

Choice#1:
Act 2 Normal/Hell Defensive
Prayer Aura

Infinity Cryptic Axe (Etheral) or Insight Cryptic Axe (Etheral)
Fortitude (Etheral Dusk or Arcon)
Andariel's Visage (Etheral Ral)

Choice#2:
Act 3 Cold or Act 3 Fire

Hand of Justice Crystal sword
Dragon Dusk armor & Dragon Shield

This will give your merc a lvl 44 Holy Fire Aura

That would be Salvation, which you need 1 into. After +Skills it is more then enough to max any players resistence.

As I said in the build, it's not combat oriented, so some people may get bored with the build. Look at it as a playable merc. You are following others and protecting them.

Try it out, see if you like it yourself. Don't depend on other players word, becuase there view of "liking" may vary from yours.

This build would actually be extremely effective in HC games.
He could be used to assist in Uber runs. Or for that matter, any run that has a chance of killing you.

Although you dont get much out of it. Its great for helping clan members and friends.
