Vengeance question

Does this work woth a bow? I know the skill desc. @ Arreat says "melee attacks", but has anyone ever tried it? Does it work?

just off the top of my head i'd say it wouldn't work. looking at a similar skill in zeal, you wouldn't be able to. but i would give a try anyway, if it doesn't cost you anything.

Doesn't work with a bow or with a throwing weapon (knives, javs).

I always wondered what the base damage on vengence, since all the damage is in %. I wanted to try to make one based on that elemental damage knife set (adds like 500~ to 3 elements) and see if it was based on % or just on a set number.

Well I have made a Chromatic-adin and have already (almost) maxed Veng and the elemental res skills sys's. The combined auras alone from wearing Dream helm, Dream shield, Dragon armor, and having HoJ and Ice on switch - is totally worthless. Average of 110 dmg per 2 secs. So I really want to make it hit hard with being able to get the direct 'melee' dmg bonus from Veng (for Ice bow.... friggin Chaos I.M.) and possibly have the maxed res skills syn's lend to the item auras. Do you know if that at least is possible? Do the Res Cold/Res Fire/Res Light skills lend synergy to the item auras or only your chr generated aura via H.Freeze/Shock/Fire?
