Which char can do the most damage..

But without being a hammerdin, gosh.. those are overplayed. Here is the deal: I haven't got 'great' stuff, in fact, I don't have anything except for a few good weapons for my frenzy barb. And I like to keep those. So I need a build/character type that can do this:
- lots of damage
- beat hell (so a lighting sorc won't work maybe?)
- be fast in killing
- cheap?

I have some good items only cuz i got it for free.. Really, in Croatian caht there are many geneourous players, i got necro torch for free, sorc torch free, shako..

Most damage would be a lightning sorc (like 10-40k or something like that) or a poison nova necro.

There aren't many characters that can beat hell by themselves, so you will always need a merc or teammate. When starting out, its best to use casters, as they are affected by skills mostly (while melee is more on items). Although you said no hammerdins, they are really the only character that can kill effectively. You may try bone necros, sorcs, trappers, wind druids, etc.

If you build a sorc right you can do hell with just a merc pretty easily. Same with bone/poison necros.

Start out with a sorc, you can do thousands of damage with crap items. Then MF for better items and go from there.

I would (since you have crappy gear) go with a blizzard sorc, they're really easy to make and cold charms are the cheapest(i think )

lightning sorcs do the most damage (i myself had one back in 1.10)

but make a blizz sorc instead, considering you have crappy gear. their damage is decent and they have tele. you probably cant do hell by yourself but you can always mf at meph for a while, get some gear, trade, and THEN create a hammerdin.

use hammerdin to get better items, trade, and finally, you can make your light sorc!!

psn java zon can do some sicckkk damage.but you need facets like crazy to get their res lowered =\ my psn zon had well over 130k damage lol.its more of a fun build to see what can happen.i doubt it could solo hell....or nightmare...or barely norm

I had a melee sorc that did 98k in bear form.

Don't forget Infinity for A2 Merc...of course, thats high end. But it will help you do Hell a lot easier. ^^

Ultimately though hammerdins pwn pvm. Their damage is unaffected by undead/demon enemy's magic resist/immunes and there are so few non-magic immune/resist non-undead/demons.

True, but then again most people don't really play PvM or hold it in much regard. They just use the Hammerdin to get gear for their PvP characters - which nothing works correctly for.

Diablo II needs a complete revamp, with hammer being nerfed.

Hammerdin, Lots of damage, can do hell himself, he kill fast. But maybe not the cheapest.

the problem with light sorces, is that yes, you get high end damage (not sure what, lets just go with 60k lol)

the problem, is that your damage is 1-60k, not 60k every hit. and by1, im not saying 1k, im saying ONE (1) damage...its good, but its dangerous too.

as for building a character that can beat hell, just about every class can do it, the thing is, you need GOOD stuff...

anytime you go with an elemental, you can be gaurneteed you wont be able ot kill everything without at least a gosu merc.

what exactly are you hopeing to accomplish? if your just wanting to run mf in all available areas instead of just working one or two bosses, try making a merc with amn amn bonehew, Shaft, and shako/vamp, that willg ive him gg damage, fast attack, life leech, high damage reduction, and itll be pretty cheap.

as for your character, id suggest a fire sorc, shes easier to aim than a blizz sorc, can kill anythign non-immune toher, and ur merc can take care of the fire immunes (hopefully)

but again, to be effective youd need an insight/infinite on your merc, so save up
