Guys, Gals.....and everyone else :umm

I have been thinking for some time now something that could be of use to alot of us here on BF.

Don't you get tired of the many lamers that run around Bnet that can become of grave annoyance when you are simply trying to enjoy yourself? Back in the day if somebody did something annoying enough to myself or a friend, there was a groupl of 8-12 of us...friends and player we met on bnet, that would take note of the persons account....then pass it around to nearly anybody we could. We would then try and rmbr the account name if we run into the person, and then take them out or just make life possible in every game (annoying people tend to have memorable and stupid account names soits easy). Better yet, we would make sure to do a little bit of spamming on that person everytime we got bored.

Now i dont know if anybody has tried, but you cant play the game if your screen is full of somebodies meaningless spam. Even if they figure out to squelch, there are usually too many people to repond to.

My suggestion is that here at BF one of the Mods should create and sticky a thread for distrusted/disliked accounts. Of course it will be left to the discresion of the Mod to decide who can or cannot submit an account (after all, why would u take the word of somebody who just registered to post an account or somebody who might be a know trouble maker to begin with?).

I think this would be a very useful tool for all of us, and why not? Every board that i can think of that has a trade section also has a similar thread to what i am mentioning? why doesnt BF undertake a similar thread?

It doesnt have to be for any malicious reasons......of course. It does not have to encourage any unscrupulous acts that could get the BF staff in trouble, just something to pose a warning to anyone especially in the case of high roller trades or service trades such as rushes.





Long and short of the story. This is the best way we can protect each other.


for the record, i just did norm cows, ancients and baal for a ....well he was supposed to pay an um at the start of baal but then dipped. I am not doing this because i am even bothered by it, i was just testing to see if something like this would even work...as i have mentioned before i am not trusting in the slightest of any1 on bnet.


its people like that that make playing/rushing/cowing/baaling or anything else where pay is involved hard for any1 else who will actually pay legitamately.


anyway, long rapid fire post. hopefully one of you mods give it a shot. its desperately needed

what is the point of this?

a) the chances or running into the same person a second time are highly unlikely. except for the bots that you know, such as the hammerbaal-# bot named En-vec. Chances are they are high levels so you should respect instead of hate them.

b) if the aim is to squelch them, you would have to resquelch everyone again once you get off b.net. There are too many spammers (not as much due to new patch) but soon it won't matter who you squelch...

c) what are these people? scammers/spammers? if they are spammers, refer to b, if they are scammers, not much you can do except not get scammed. Be more careful, there is already a 'ways to not get scammed' guide in newbies only.

a. if you have played for more than 5 mins even trying to baal run one night you will run into the same people over and over even if it is just that night and you try many rooms. how does any of what i said lead you to make that incredible deduction that the persons that may be annoying are also of a "high level" and deserve any respect?


b. did you comprehend anything up there?

and finally.....the synopsis of this is that you should refer to b and try again.


where does spammers/bots or anything else come into this at all?

btw C is as weaksauce as you can get. considering the number of people here that used to talk about offering rushes for items/forge. its either dont do it and be scared or try another method. we arent talking about dumb "i dupe" or "free for trust here". we are talking about anything from somebody not paying up for cow/baal run or even an annoying person that made a good game crappy for you because he pk'ed your level 35 in front of baal.

what about when u need to trade that anni? what are you going to do? run aroundbegging for free and dont trade at all? again, if you have even done the trade channels for once in your life you would therefore know you see the same people going through them everyday. that is why a list would be good.

so back to main point which obviously has nothing to do with the above reply at all.

creating a dung list could be helpful.

i read the first 3 or 4 paragraphs, it was giving me a headache because it was beginning to get repetitive and poorly written.

anyways, as velvet said, the chances are very slim, and if there are many spammers, then the games arent filling up too fast, which could mean the runs suck anyways. several people play private runs anyways.

i could see it now, a thread where people make up account names that are 'problematic' to get an easy +1.

again you miss the point. it isnt about tracking and finding anyone, what you want to leave some bounty hunter dream? it is about if you happen to be on East (doesnt matter if its SC/NL wtvr since we mostly have a bit of each anyway) you can no not to deal with Person X who lives in the trade channels nearly permanently jipping people or just waisiting there time. its about maybe just being able to spam them like i have said more than once.....that in itself can be a grave annoyance to some1.

now to move on to others.

the "i will not run into them" "i will play private games anywayz" attitude is a very poor one. not everybody wants to hide away or live in an ignorant bliss. why would u not run into them? i just traded with 3 person (Leandro.trades, t2 Pac and sdsu) 3 nights in a row. what, maybe this thing called playing diablo is something you have not tried why u havent run into people repeatedly? i also ran into another guy multiple nights till he is the first person i added to my F list just for that reason.


furthermore let me repeat yet again re: the "+1" nonsense....that is what we have mods for.....or did you think it was because they just like the title?



















FOR THE LAST TIME..... for those who want to talk about "it cant happen" or "i can just go play alone with myself".
this is not for you. go away.

but if you are willing to stop to think, ask yourself if this works on boards with 100,000 + members where they make lists that include not only bad trader members, but bad places to buy period. whether it be an electronic gadgets board, car web board or even something like a paintball board. they all seem to have them.

Normal if I have a problem with an individual I will put them on my friends list and when im on, ill look to see if they are online, then go to that game and let everone know about them and definately PK em. I's still looking for the kid who scammed me out of my 178/6 um'ed arreants, after i rushed him, what an idiot I am.

I think the idea is alright, but it's unlikely you would run into the same person in an 8 player game, with so many people playing, its been over 2 weeks and i still havent caught this kid on the same time as me.
