| UBER D2 LAG!!!
Omg peoples i am laggging sooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad in d2 any one know why? i have dsl and a router. i had this problem before patch 1.11 and iut just went away, i jsut started playing again yesterday and that is when it started lagging  any help wopuld be appreciated.

anyway, seriouslly....i dont know if you mean within the last hour or so....but many other peopl;e in chat were complaining about some crazy lag spikes and i can testify to that. my ping is all over the place. i also got booted out of my own private room and now i can join or make a game and lots of people are saying the same thing...... US East btw.

| They also lag my browser. If you lag, try not to spread the bad luck to others! 
Is the lag really bad though? My Friends have been saying that the lag is very bad and that it gives them connection interrupted a lot. I'm afraid of the new patch for that reason and a few others. | |

| guys i had to give this a bump.....
i am on US East and i must say. i have not been able to play at all since last night since lag is so bad and BNET in generally in extremely unstable.
it started early in the evening and i lost several items i had just traded for that i was muling and dropped. then it hasnt stopped.....i can hardly stay in a room for 5 mins and while i am in there you break up every few seconds sometimes. then connecting to rooms in itseld seems to be a mission!!!
what on earth is going on...i have never seen it this bad. :hbut | |

| well, there is no alg IF i am going in a straight line, but try this. put your cursor in the middle of your screen. then vigrously try to make your char run in circles, if your computer screen doesnt freeze then you dont have my lag. wne i vigorously move my mouse it lags sooooooooooooo bad and it stops lagging when i stop moving my mouse. think of it this way. if im not going in a stright line i will lag another way for you guys to feel me is if i try to move the mosue upand down and left to right you will not see the mouse move on the screen it will show u the ending point and starting ppint IT SUCSK ASS!!!
Edit: i tryed palying witouth my router and it didnt help. and yall no wat else i say? i was a t the character selection screeen and it did the same kind of lag, i couldnt see the mouse cursor move across the screen I NEED HELP!!!!
Edit2: i once had a critical error with my graphics display driver, or hard ware w/e its called. my whole computer shut down and it restarted with a messege saying that my graphics display was resposible for a critical errror but taht the system has recovered from it.

| dbz this sounds like video lag to me, not connection lag. and with moving your mouse around like crazy is telling me trojan or something else is taking up 100% of your CPU. hit ctrl-alt-delete and goto the "Performance" tab and look at your CPU usage. If it's constantly like 60% or above it's safe to say something is wrong.
Try switching to 640x480 resolution and see if that helps. Some computers just can't handle 800x600(mine)

| That helps alot. Also dont move your mouse vigorously ^^. I think its the new patch in general though. There are alot of big changes, so b.nets probly having some trouble. It should clear up when ladder resets (MONDAY!!!!!!!!) | |

| well right my cpu is straining itself working its ass off before i never had to turn off anything hell i could have somthing installing in the background and move the mouse vigrously as much is i friggin wanted but now i cant play for shit this is quite annoying

| You should try reformatting and reinstalling windows. Perhaps a defrag before going through all that though. Also make sure you have the proper video drivers installed if you have done a reinstall of windows recently (windows default drivers suck my left nut)
