The Official Diablo Mod Idea Thread

Alrighty guys. Weve got the participants and got the tools. Now we need ideas.
Thats where you come in.
Now, im going to work this as a democracy. Its going to be orderly and reasonable.
If you fail to oblige to these rules i will give you and infraction. Im not joking.

First off.
I want you to post your idea(s). Listed like so.

Idea 1) Zoltar gets all t3h l00t
Idea 2) Zoltar gets all t3h goldz


Then i want you to post your opinion of other ideas underneath your own. I want them to be agree/disagree/suggestions. If we get one that everyone seems to agree with i will add it to the officail idea list and you might even get some points for it.

Understand people? This can be fun and productive. So have at it!

Each participant/creator of the mod gets to make there own custom set. But these sets are not game ruiners. They are simply commonly found sets.

Sorry for the double post on my part. I wanted to keep my ideas apart from the rules.

Zoltars Idea 1) Every creator/participant in this mod gets the choice to make there own item set. This set can be to your liking as much as you want. But i will not make them a game ruiner. I would like them to simply be sets in the game you see normally.

Zoltars Idea 2)
Every creator of the game gets there own character/enemy in the game. To there specifications. Now, this enemy can drop the persons set or not, its up to them.

Ninja's Idea 1) We should somehow make a mode, where players can make wagers on duelers.

So im guessing you agree with the Set idea? Thats 1/1 so far for me

The duel idea is a good one. But it would be extremely hard to impliment.

I have decided to even it down to a 5 piece set that I had intentionally created for a character in a short story I recently had published. As.. for my enemy.

It needs to be a Werewolf/Spirit Wolf/Duriel (in order of access if you can't). Cold Enchanted, with Cold Immunity and Holy Freeze. Probably add Extra Fast and Strong to it, to really make people die.

As for the set, its more like IK set, except with no helm and the hammer is a 2 hand sword

Set name: Harvenian Slayer Attire
Purpose: 2 Hand melee character set, made up of pretty light parts except for armor (but the armor is under the Battle suit, the art for it is gonna be like leather and stuff, used Balrog for char art).


Harvenian Battle Suit (either Russet Armor or Balrog Skin)
Harvenian Gauntlets (War Guantlets)
Harvenian High Boots (Wyrmhide Boots)
Obi of Brotherhood (Spiderweb Sash)
Blade of Kyoukai (Champion Sword)
Slayer's Tag (Amulet)

Sockets: Only on Armor and Sword. Sword is indestructible and ethereal always.

Level Reqs are around 50-60. But the set offers some decent bonuses that I dont know yet. I know for sure that I will make the graphics for these items. And the set will give you Holy Freeze when near completed.

sob.... here we go

Jimi's Idea 1) BGDB (Monster/super boss)

Only accessable from a key dropped by baal, has a low drop rate. when you get the key you goto a5, place the key in the cube (like the organs and keys) and it makes a portal to a place with the BGDB(Battle Forums Data Base) it has a 300% chance to drop uniques and runes and a 50-50 chance to drop the key again.

Jimi i had an idea along those lines.
Im gonna add this on to my old idea 2.

Zoltars Idea 3) Every creator gets a enemy in the game. These enemys become a part of a final hidden quest. You have to scout out and find our enemys. Each one has a chance to drop a key specificly from that monster. You need to go to a special area, cube these keys, and it takes you to the final battle. The battle of all the creators monsters except UBER and all at once! Once you defeat them you get the BF set. Which is a game ruiner. But it is gawdly.

Im adding the set for every person to the official list. I mean, who doesnt want that? And i know everyone has agreed to it.

Spawn's Idea #1) We should make it more like 3-5 skills per level and 10-13 stats per level!
Spawn's Idea #2) We should make a enemy that can shapeshift like the druid but it can clone itself up to four times, maybe it could be the last boss?

You do realize the sets were supposed to be decent, not cheap right?

Currently working on the Vad set to be based upon the Vadriel side quest boss. It's taking some thought, but I plan on essentially making it work as making you into him.

Hey, you know how there were the "Hidden Classes" from Nez? Let's expand on that! Make several different "class" sets that more experienced characters can find and boost over to new chars.

And have each item in the set be really weak at low level, with like a level requirement of 1...but the attributes are all "based on character level" and have hidden recipe bonuses that add to required level?

And with the completed set, you get morphed into the creature?

This would allow you to build entire characters around specific enemies, from the very start!

Ok, another thing with my set, my sets original owner meaning original character that would've used it, he is not the enemy, but he could be like griswold except he would be spawn. Any other suggestions to where he could be in quest wise. For example he could be like griswold except his name is spawn, looks different, and is the now walking dead of whatever tristram would be called if it is to be different in this mod.

You mean, a subboss?

Because that's the only way I can figure out for him to be like Griswold, but named something else and looking different.

Ok, sort of like Duriels Shell Armor, mabye make a Mephisto's Encasement?

What do you mean sub-boss?

Maybe make a set that maybe is based on a unknown human version of baal, where he used the set called Baal's Armory? And a set for Mephisto called Mephisto's Touch? And a horn that is a charm called Diablo's Spike?

Just a few things that I thought up in a few seconds!

that actually would suck,and take alot of time im sure, and kind of pointless, because it would, i think you are saying, just a new skin over what you are.

I say we have like a boss, a "world boss" that can spawn at anytime, like DC did, but it is random, no SOJ selling or anything, just something random.

hmmmm..... on a mod i played before nez, there were items like this, well, they had some nice stats and morphed you into the boss, unlike the class dolls it didnt matter about finding a bunch of pieces, it was just one item. i miss that mod...\

Yes and no.

Remember that almost all basic skills are uncastable in morph form. All you'd have are the skills that are granted to the form you use. Only skills I know of that can be cast in morph form are skel summoning skills and Bone skills, so Necs would be the only ones able to do additional skills.

It would reskin you, and redetermine your skillset. It would change a lot of the way you play the game.

And actually, a charm done the way it was in Nez would be smarter...upgradeable through recipes to enhance your skills, and dropped occasionally from the monster that it lets you become...probably about as common as souls in Nez.

OR, it could be a completely new base type, like to take the spot of an amulet...and each Class could be a unique of it. Some could be rarer than others, and you could Gamble for the classes. All of them would have a level req of 1, so they're all usable by any character.

I think it would be cool to call them Soul Talismans.
