| That's a good idea, so people can yell, "BURN THE WITCH!!!!"
And "She turned me into a newt!" ".......I got better"
And costing no mana for teleport in town would be a LOT of fun. Ninja's Idea 3) We should have in like act 5 that a quest is you have to defend the city's inhabitants from oncoming hordes. That would be REALLY fun.

| I actually like that idea Ninja Blue.
I would recommend that and some sort of escort mission. Zoltars Idea 4) Make a spell for town portal.
Make a clone battle. Where you battle yourself. |

| I think you should call it a shade battle, like you battle your dark-side, it blends better with the story. Clone battle sounds so bland. Maybe like, the quest could be, "The Dark Side", or something.
Your shade/dark side, is all black/very dark colored. Ninja's Idea 4) A quest where you have to hear 2 stories from 2 very identical people, one is good, one is evil, and which ever you think is the evil one, you have to kill
I think that would be some crazy shit.

| My idea for the Soul Talismans isn't really that confusing.
--One new base item that uses Amulet slot
--Standard Blue-Name of this item have very few if any attribute possibilities
--All special classes are a Unique of the item, with different rarities (game mechanic)
--Base item is always available in Gamble, for very cheap. The Gamble makes it so that it's almost random what type of Class you get.
--All standard attributes on the Unique versions are weak to start with, but get better as you level.
--There is a generic elemental recipe item for each skill damage type, and various combinations of them (up to 5 total in each recipe) combined with various Uniques of the Soul Talismans result in different skills added to the Talisman, and also increases the level req of the Talisman by 1, so that you can only level the skills so much depending on your own level...keeping it somewhat like a standard skill tree.
--Wearing a Talisman converts you into the creature specified in the name, which autodisables all your normal skills and allows only those granted by the Talisman to be cast while the Talisman is worn.
Example: Izual (Soul Talisman)
Level Req: 1 +1-2 Cold Damage (Increases with Character Level)
+1-2 Magic Damage (Increases with Character Level)
+2 Strength (Increases with Character Level)
+1 Stamina (Inreases with Character Level)
+2% Cold Resistance (Increases with Character Level) (Morphs Izual) Potential Combinations:
--3 Cold Elemental Stones + Izual Soul Talisman = +1 to Frost Nova and +1 Required Character Level
--3 Magic Elemental Stones + Izual Soul Talisman = +1 to Fist of the Heavens and +1 Required Character Level
--2 Cold Elemental Stones + 2 Magic Elemental Stones + Izual Soul Talisman = +1 Level Concentration Aura when equipped and +1 Required Character Level
And so on. Not a difficult concept, it'd just be a little bit of work to make all the recipes and individual Uniques...but quite frankly it's not hard at all, is purely optional for a player to utilize, adds a lot to the game to make it unique, and I'm totally willing to do the work to integrate it in.
I'm quite serious about this...I like the idea with a passion. =) |

| No. Not at all. This will be made purely from scratch, but the ideas for Soul attributes as they relate to the creature itself were mostly so dead-on that it'd make sense to carry some of them over.
This stuff can all be done no prob from scratch. Shit, Nez didn't even have its own engine, just a very large amount of work already done on it. We can't build off of it, and we don't just want another Nez, so we take inspiration from it and do our own thing. |

| Nez is really just a Patch_D2.mpq file with a large amount of modifications that adds to the other mpq files. Hopefully, we can make a harder version of D2 that works like Nez. Starts off hard and easy later. |

| What if we could make it somehow adjust to a player's liking?
That would be cool.
And I have a small understanding of the soul thing Vadriel, that would be cool, but I'll leave it to you guys to talk about coding it, lest my head explode from confusion.
It would be fun to test.

| Really, it would be quite simple to create this Soul Talisman thing...there are only a few steps (although some are rather long in execution).
1) Create the new base item. This is probably the toughest, because I'm not entirely sure how to do it, but if you can make new forms of gloves like in Nez, I'd think you could make a new form of an amulet.
2) Define the base item's potential magical prefixes and suffixes (this would show what sort of attributes the "Bluename" ones could spawn with. Limit it severely.
3) Set up base item's rarity, fix all its shop attributes, and set the attributes to make it always available in Gamble.
4) Create all the various Uniques. Long step, but relatively simple. In a lot of cases, making "(Increases with Character Level)" attributes are as easy as making the standard "+5-10 damage" attributes. Also in this step, set the rarities of each unique so that some are very hard to attain, and some are as common as dirt.
5) Create the base items for each of the "Elemental Stones" (working name). This should be simple. They can't use any prefixes or suffixes, don't go into any item slot..they're just generic elemental recipe items. I'm still thinking of how readily available these items need to be, because they won't really be usable unless you've got a level or two to spare...I'm considering just having them available about twice as often as a monster's soul was in Nez, and each type can only drop from monsters that utilize that particular element (or did in Nez, lol.)
6) Create the recipes to add on to the Soul Talismans. This boils down to something as simple as the Soul Reaver + Spectral Gate recipe from Nez. You can make recipes to work with specific uniques, so all you have to do is come up with which recipes should do what, and code it. The coding should be as simple as everything else.
All in all this is pretty easy, but relatively time consuming. |

| The thing about nez is that it doesnt read directly from the txt files in the MPQs.
If you look at the txt files in the nez Patch_D2 they are not modified at all. They read from the changed DLLs. That is why character editors flip out on nez.
It would be more desirable if we just edited the MPQs as not to get to complicated. |

| No DUH. What am I trying to tell you guys here? ALL THIS IS DONE IN THE TXT FILES, WHICH GET PACKAGED INTO THE MPQ!
I've SEEN the fields, whilst playing around with the modding tools. I'm not talking about editing Nez, I'm talking about making our OWN MPQ-BASED MOD, with a little bit of inspiration from Nez, because frankly Nez had some seriously intelligent ideas.
Why are you guys having a hard time understanding that I'm not after our own "upgrade" of Nez? |

| Holy shit, that would be awesome to be one of the prime evils.
I think this is what Vadriel was saying.
Say, if you were turned into Diablo, you would lose all skills (if you can change back it's temporary than) and you would have the Lightning spell Diablo has, and his other shit, with like 100 Damage from melee.
That would be sick as hell.
And you were also saying, if it is just some low level guy, he can morph, but it really does nothing for him?
If that isn't true, than we should make it so you have to be the max level, and by morphing, you gain ultimate, idk.
Edit : Does anyone remember the Godly plate of the heaven's back in Diablo 1?
If so, we should DEFENAITLY bring that back, and make it a set. Godly Plate of the Heavens and Godly Sword of the Heavens, they have like, less than a 1% drop rate. It's the rarest item EVER. It's +20 to all stats for both, indestructible, sword has very fast attack rate, probably has some other bonuses, and it would give like +5 to all skills.

| Oh, okay, I've never played Nez :P
Anyways, what about my idea of bringing back Godly Armor?
It would be like, level 99 required, and like, at least 180 strength required, and bla bla bla.
But it's +100 hp, the full set bonus would be like, 50% critical strike, 50% open wounds, 50% crushing blow. And other stuff, it would be like a runeword x100, cause it is the Godly set.
