| You know...with how you are, I think I'm going to just keep your points whatever happens or doesn't happen with the mod. Just to watch you bitch like a feeble little old lady who just had her groceries tipped over and purse stolen by a much younger, spryer little bandit. |

Too bad, so sad. Unless you can get it by force, it's a wise word of advice not to piss off people who have stuff you want. |

| No, that's you being dumb.
Anyways, in an attempt to bring this thread back on topic, where are we currently at with the mod? |

| I have no clue. It seems like me and Cheeze are the only ones talking in here...and most of it isn't even constructive work on the mod, it's him being a lameass harassing me --as per usual--.
It looks like most other people have sorta stopped caring...unless I do everything myself, it doesn't look like it's happening.
And no Cheeze...you DON'T get your points back. Consider it a tax for being such a pain in my ass. If you had been a half worthwhile human being, I'd have gladly returned your points...but you can't manage to accomplish that, so I can't be bothered to reward your uselessness.
Scamming, for the record, is when you deliberately con somebody out of something without ever intending to return it or honor the deal. I always intended on honoring the agreement, it's just that your dumb ass made me quite less than inclined to do a DAMN thing for you. |

| I still play the game anyways. It's just modding a game from scratch isn't the easiest thing to do in the world. Sometimes, you need a really large development team in which ALL of them know what they are doing. |

| Yeah, no kidding...especially considering some of the high-level shit people are wanting to do...I have a slight idea of how to rearrange things and tweak variables to do a LOT of this stuff, but I lack the technical know-how. After reading a lot of tutorials and examples on modding D2, I've got an idea of how the system works, but I'd get so mixed up trying to do the actual tech stuff that I'd never get anywhere... |

| Well, the way I see items is an OO methodology. Basically, every item is a class or something, with different variables and pictures and such. If I knew that system, I could easily fashion up some simple items. |

Items are a set of data in a spreadsheet where almost every field is a link to another area in another file, where it draws information. It's all in strings and references. That part is mostly easy, I can find the variables and where to put them, and I can do items.
What I'm talking about is, like, how to make a new shopkeeper. I could modify the graphics for say, the gambling guy/shopkeeper in Lut Gholein, change the characteristics for every base item in the game to determine which can spawn in his shop and which can't, do a voice-over to change his voice, and perhaps edit a table string so that the text associated with him are in sync with what he says and his name...but I don't know the specific fields to change, or what the variables I'd need to input are, or hardly any of that stuff. Things aren't labeled very conveniently in the data tables, so unless you've got a killer guide that tells you EVERYTHING that EVERY variable does in EVERY field...it's a lot of shoot-and-miss experimentation...most of the time you won't even achieve any sort of desirable result, just errors.
I understand the pathways to go to do it, like what needs to be done, but I don't know the syntax or the protocols. |

| Ok, I talked the person at my Karate School, she said that her son has a animation program that you can use to make sprites, I'll ask her the next time I go if he would be willing to lend me it so I can give you guys it if this mod is to be made. If I knew what I was doing, of if someone could teach me, I would gladly participate, but for the moment, all I can do is ask other people if they are willing to help us with this mod.
And Vadriel, I wouldn't give Cheeze his points back either!
