Not every char I do is hacked. Most singles, yes...but every server char I ever did was legit...and they all owned. =)

I cant really disagree there, but one thing I never liked about you and Root was the fact that you guys were generally impatient near the end and went to hacking to speed up something thats supposed to take awhile.

Well, I never hacked my first characters until they were legitimately able to dominat pretty much whatever in the game. When the game is your bitch at level 500, why waste so much time to try to make those last 250 levels through arduous Hell Kag runs for high xp bags, and Gaunt for MMs?

Well, it's achieving 750 legit that makes you a true master. The reason it takes so long is because it's supposed to...but it's fine, everyone has their method of fun. I respect that, but loathe hacking.

I hacked once and only once on open bnet and then on closed I would use maphack, after someone suggested I get it.

MH is okay, I'm referring to direct character editing/duping...Hacking in NezMod is also vastly different and has a much more noticeable effect on your character then in normal D2.

I used to use something like Akaras or something on open, just to see what I could do!!

Yeah, a good item editor can do so much amazing stuff to a character. I use Diabolic, and with all of Nez's secret recipes and tricks, you can do a mind-boggling amount of interesting stuff.

Great for you, but since I quit d2 and decided to comeback, I am completely legit with everything!!

Yeah, I tried to go legit for a while...it just seemed like a waste of time though...I mean, to spend countless hours upon hours of time to just end up with a basic, flat character seemed silly. I mean, I DID have my legit Zon, who was the most pwnage level 28 Javazon you've ever seen...

But it takes so long before you really get anywhere. Nez's process for becoming godly is nothing more than doing basic quests and farming areas where the monsters are around your level until you can do Norm Gaunt reliably, and then Gaunting like a madman over and over and over and over and over again until you're badass/strong enough to do NT Gaunt...and then repeat until you can do Hell Gaunt...and do that till you can master anywhere in the game (which I might say sometimes Hell Gaunt is the last place my characters can do).

The process gets pretty repetitive and dull, especially when you consider that I like to try out a lot of different possible character builds. Taking all that time to make every one of them maximum level/potential just sucks. It's all in time management, and "cheating" is a lot faster for what I'm after. I can still do it legit, and come out with some of the best characters around, but I choose not to.
