Hello, I just downloaded WinMPQ, just because I love messing around with stuff. So I open patch_d2.mpq and I get a bunch of smaller files, so I open one up in word/notepad/exel and this is what I see
no it doesnt. Anyways, get a table editor. The d2 kind. those are .tbl files, and can only be viewed with a table editor. NOT d2excel, or a spreadsheet viewer. look in the tools part
All thats stored in those is pointless string information anyways, unless your trying to find a hidden quest reward
No, since Blizzard likes to patch any hack they get their hands on I'm gonna see if I can exploit something I saw the other day using the mpq files....sort of like what you did with drophack, but this involves tradehack
Different files have different extensions. Think of trying to open an mp3 with notepad...that's similar to what you're trying to do. .txt files can be opened with notepad or D2Excel, but some other files cannot. Head over to www.d2mods.com to find out more.
And btw, there is ONE exploit I know of to scam people. It requires people downloading your alterations (either the whole mpq or just the modded files) and it seemed like a lost hope. It could scam anybody out of ONE unique or set...well, probably out of ANY one item.
