| Avoiding Pindlebot detection Just wondering if anyone has figured out a reliable method for configuring Pindle such that it avoids the traps that Blizzard sets. I can't seem to figure out how to make pindle wait after it enters a channel, before entering a game... there doesn't seem to be an option for that in ipb 3.4, at least.
I had it working well for my druid too... ah well. At least I figured out how to make it work with an unusual mf configuration on a finicky system, before the crackdown at least. ^_^
It seems to work for a while, then D2 will crash or log out, then I get the realm down message. Funny thing is I can get those same problems running normally, then again I use maphack almost religiously and am fond of the chicken and quick exit features...

| damn, I wish I'd tried out D2jsp earlier... hell, I wish I'd tried JavaScript out earlier too. Finally I can say those three years of Java programming classes are good for something other than being able to read C++ code snippets. I'm liking this language... I wish I'd tried it before. It only took me a minute to become acclimated, and I was in hacking heaven. But, I digress...
I was disappointed that the Druid configuration only allowed for a single attack, but I was able to mitigate that easily with a few if() statements and two extra variables in the pwnchars.d2l file, so now it swings 10 times with Feral Rage, then goes to town with Fury, stopping every 10 attacks to make a single swing with Feral Rage to maintain the life leech (when I don't hit a PI or some other defensive mod, it only takes two or three Fury attacks to finish the job.) The only thing I have to even begin to worry about is Fanaticism in some instances - even PI is nothing more than a mild annoyance. Pindle's guards provide excellent leech fodder.
I do have a problem, though - every so often, I get this error:
23:02:04] 1 iablo II hwnd disappeared, reloading.
Sometimes it happens quite often, which is annoying - especially since I also have this problem: Wierd 2-minute sign-on delay: Checking Versions
Any ideas?

| Is having your pwnage pindle bot set to restart D2 on every error better for not being detected? Or is it still as easy as to detect since the games go in succession. |

| Turns out that hwnd is a directx term for host window, or the game process itself. The game had crashed without an error, basically.
Seems to happen whenever the bot attempts to chicken out. I'm gonna have to look into that.
Could be a problem with my video card drivers (NVidia Detonator beta release, though quite stable) but I really doubt it.

| umm, I wasn't commenting on your post at all, just following up on my own... did you read the thread or just jump in?
I don't believe it would make a significant difference, no. If anything, you might make it worse, but I doubt either case would be nearly enough for Blizzard to consider the possibility of bot-like behavior - fast cow runs, meph runs, and baal runs also go in sequence, and those with unreliable connections will drop off more frequently. I've continued research and looked at how the D2JSP Pwnage pindlebot avoids detection - it randomizes the delays, the NPCs visited, and the steps taken, thus stopping most bot-detection techniques cold. Use that bot and don't worry about it. It's quite well-thought-out, though it might not be for you if you don't use a sorc or zon (like I said, I had to do some javascript hacking to make my Druid attack pattern work.)

| One question for those more familiar with this bot - is there any reason why Heart of Wolverine won't cast? It wouldn't work by default and I tried hard-coding the routine to cast the spell directly in several places, to no avail.

| i notice that when im muling and switch chars quick i get realm down for exactly 2 mins, but the way i found to stop this is simple be active in the channel every time i exit the game, i usually just do "/f l" and it always keeps me going would somthing like this work for pindle?

Took me a while to get my character so i could attack pindle.. But anway, that's just running in normal diff.
I plan on letting it run for the next day. Maybe i'll just let it run till it get's caught??? At least this would be a good test to run and see how well pindlebot was developed..
I dunno,
I have been up too late and the sun is starting to come up.. Maybe I should goto bed now.
