Possible new dupe method(details inside)

this would be done with packets, but say a certin person sells a item to akara and has a packing being sent to pick a item up, and so does your friend now as you sell the item, you buy it back, but ur friend does it too, now this will either give both people the item, or cause ur game to rollback -_-, theres something wrong witch the mercs, that allows them to do this shit now, but of course the buying back would have to be instant..

I'm pretty sure this would result in a full game rollback, and would be relatively useless for all the work gone into it, but it could be useful for un-identifying items.

i dont get it. do oyu just sell an item to akara then buy you and a friend trade akara and you both see the item. then oyu both buy it back and there are two? but dont some items dissapear wen u sell to akara

Soj get dissapeared :P If you sell an armor and there is enough space in the Armor section, it wont dissapear.

When an item like an armor or a charm or something akara doesn't normally sell is sold to her, as soon as someone buys it back it disappears, if you and a friend are both looking at it and one buys, it will disappear on BOTH peoples screen.
Hope that squared up what a few people mighta been thinking.

It would be nearly impossible to do that without hotlinked computers or an accurate timing program. An if you understood how packets work, you would know that you can not send the exact same "buy item" packet at the exact same time. Even if you could, it would probably crash Diablo 2.

Well as bnet said now, they changed the thing with the mercs so it would be impossible to do the previus ways of dupeing, like the sell and buy back and shit,but it would be useful for rolling back at that, and is probally far easier than the other methods of causing roll back, plus after a while people will figure out how to exploit it.

Lastnight I was mesing around in diablo doing alot of stuff to keep me fomr dying of boredom while waiting on a friend to get back from AFk. I was talking on teamspeak and I hit my hotkey to talk while doing something in game and got a CI and was tagged for 5 minutes.
When I finally logged back in everything was rolled back. I did this solo for six or seven more times and it still worked. Each and everytime the game was rolled back.
I will test on this a little more tonight and tomorrow and if it is indeed a true dupe method I will release it here first.
Some of you may remember me when I was a senior mod at Cheatlist, but since that site is basically gone adn I have been spending my time here you guys will get first DIBS.
Gimme two days to test this and I will post my results immediatly.

He means to buy them both at the same time through packets... but even that won't work because they won't arrive at the server at the EXACT same time.

u could pick up an itm and if u open ur inventory at the same time you have the itm in ur inventory and in ur hand
