ISO: help viewing .mpq files

OK OK OK OK OK

I have .mpq view and all, but I DONT KNOW HOW TO VIEW A .mpq file??

i open Mpqview

click on "open archive"

find the mpq i want to view

and nothing happens?

in the "Available files:" box there is nothing, just blank white. On the bottom of the Mpqview window it says "Ready" after I load up a .mpq to view.

BUT WTF DO I DO NEXT?

btw: :butterfly

If you can't figure out how to open a file, you probably shouldn't try modding.

you need a "data file" after u open the a mpq say d2exp.mpq, go to the menu and open data file, here you will need to select a data file that decodes the mpq's structure. The reason you have to do this is because blizzard uses mpq's for more games than just diablo, and mpq view can look at them all, you have to open the correct data file for the game you are wanting to open. Usually where u download the mpqviewer will have the appropriate data file.
