I'm a newbie to D2 hacking and the like, but I was wondering how I would go about doing something.

I'm looking to shop for items in NPC vendors. I know that the items that they sell refresh when you exit town in that act. When you do so, is there a packet or something that is being transferred that allows the items to get refreshed?

Would it be somehow possible to simulate this packet transfer without going out and in of town?

Another thing: would it be possible to do something similar with the transmute function of the cube to roll items (just the item itself)?

If it matters, I need this mostly for v1.10 Diablo 2.

The refreshing... no, it's not a packet, its serverside. The server checks if you are out and then refreshes so the only way to do this would be to fake the server into thinking you went out of town, which is pretty much useless and could be done manually running out
