| D3 by Flagship Studios
D3 is coming, and here's the story from the latest PC Gamer: Shout For The Devil Since several founding members of the Diablo Team left Blizzard to form Flagship Studios, the future of Diablo 3 has been much topic of much speculation here at PCG...
It also said that it would be a while before it comes out. Too bad  |

Now, they could just change the name and all that good stuff, but why do that...Just because the development team left, doesn't mean they're going to pick the game up. | They could easily make the game Diablo 3 and just use a different name, and change a few underlying story elements to make it different enough to pass copyright muster.
That, or they could be suing for use of the name. The courts have been ruling a little more favorably for writer / creator intellectual rights in recent years...

| Yea lets make a completly diff game and try to say its diablo...if they even make a reference to Diablo without blizzards consent they can be sued and put ouuta business. Either blizz makes it or they sell flagship the rights, otherwise no diablo 3 | |

| Are you suggesting they name a game Devil 3? Then where did Devil 1 and Devil 2 go?
One more thing. We all know Blizzard or who ever makes Diablo 3 or what ever they call it will make an Expansion Pack. Blizzard has made an expansion to almost everything they have made. And it seems traditional that the D3 will own but it will have a few things held back like new chars and such cuz people are so money hungry they will wait a few months to release the expansion with all the other goodies in it. -sigh- But us people are so game hungry we will buy it right up.

It sounds like the way you are speaking, if a game has a sorc, barb, etc whatever, something named a GF, they could sue for it.
Maybe for a grandfather with the same pic ture :P
But many of the item names are just common sense names.....they cant sue for that eh? | |

| How would we know? WoW isnt out yet? It could flop just like 95% of the other MMORPGS out there.
If its the biggest $$ maker, and they dont make it a trilogy.... then someone needs to be fired.
