Their have been alot of rumors spreading about a possible DiabloIII recently, and being the Diablo fan I am, I couldnt help but to make a list for both my own and the communities benifit.
-SC2 was originally to be released in the WWI 2008, not the WWI 2007 (which is was released in), and the original plan date for WWI 2008 was to be may, not june, and in korea, not eruope. Since SC2 was instead announced a year early, they changed the date for the 08 WWI (World Wide Invitational) to june 29th (NOTE: i do not 100% remember where this part of information came from, it might not be reliable)
-June 29th, the date of WWI 08 held in Paris, happens to be Diablo2's release date in Europe, and I dont think Blizzard could do that by accident
-The WWI 08 sites banner is the first one I personally have -ever- seen that does NOT include a Diablo picture in it, only SC and WC/WoW, great way to surprise everyone is to subtly make them not even remember the Diablo franchise. I've seen Every banner Blizzard has made for their blizzcons and WWI's since 05, and they have -always- had Diablo in there somewhere.
-There are only 2 games left (known of) for Blizzard to release, D3 (which we know is in progress just from the Diablo team job openings over the years) and an unanounced game of an entire new franchise (looking through the hints and whatnot it leans more torwards d3 though)
-a few months ago Blizzard emailed the owner of Diablo3.es (i think thats the site, cant remember now) asking for a turnover of ownership to the site, the owner announced this, and recently the site was transfered into blizzards hands, now it's completely shut down, speculation has it that its being rebuilt by Blizzard.
-Umaro (Owner/admin of Diablo3.com, a fansite) and MidevalDragon have been hinting for the past month or so that the site was going to see some HUGE uproar and some amazing new things that will blow your mind, though he wouldn't tell what.
-Now, Umaro has put up a counter on Diablo3.com counting down to May 1st for some reason, and has admited it has nothign to do with either a patch to Diablo2, or the new book coming out, but he says its going to be -huge- and literally "half the gamers on the internet will come to diablo3.com" Now, there -are- possiblities to an update related to Diablo, NOT being Diablo3, such as the book, patch to D2, etc etc, but besides the owner himself saying it's -not- those, what could possibly make half the gamers of the world go to the site? I can only think of one thing
-Blizzplanet.com and Starcraft2.com, fansites hosted by Diablo3.com, also has this counter, saying "Seram will be shaken in 12 days" counting with the d3 counter, down to may 1st. Seram is an area in the Diablo universe (learned about in the books) also, every day the counter changes, it says ____ will be shaken in ___ days, and its always diablo related.
Honostly, I don't want to get my hopes up, but with Blizzard holding the next WWI -on- Diablos II's release date, along with the counter for Diablo3.com, I can't help but get excited just like I did years ago when I was on my way to Bestbuy to get DiabloII, guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens...
