| I would hate to see Diablo III become a MMORPG. That would be uberly gay on Blizzard's part of the deal. Besides nothing could really compete with World of Warcraft, there is too many people that are loyal to that game. It would be cool if Diablo III was not a new game on it's own, but yet another expansion to Diablo II. But that might be confusing to some, mainly because shouldn't it be named Diablo II: (Insert Text). Well not really mainly because they would be following the whole entire story of Diablo I which turned into Diablo II. So there would be a valid reason in either making it an expansion or even a whole new game that just follows a storyline. But that would make more sense to if you look at what that says. It says that after Izual destroyed the Worldstone it re-empowered the children of Lilith and Inarius. This would be a great way to start a new chapter in the Diablo World since it would show that Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal, are gone and that a whole new generation of evil, destruction, hatred, and chaos would be starting. They would however need to adjust the types of characters that are in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, so that they could defeat the children of Lilith and Inarius. But wasn't izual a fallen angel, not a angel. That would make him evil, and no longer an angel. But I am just a thirteen year old kid, so maybe I am just wrong.

| Yes, it's probably going to be announced at Blizzcon. I've been sending this information to x42nb6 for weeks, but he hasn't posted it on the portal like he did with the many Starcraft II rumors I was feeding him. Someone else should message him or another admin with this information. Quote:

Anyway, I doubt they would make another game in the Diablo series without Diablo present somehow. It just wouldn't feel right, not at all.
I also doubt it's going to be an MMORPG, unless they want to take a different path in the Diablo game line. Meaning this wouldn't actually be the third game in the series, like World of Warcraft to the Warcraft series. Blizzard knows that the "hack and slash" gameplay is what makes Diablo fun, and they'll continue with it, hopefully.

| spawn: you dont think about things right
if they went by your logic and created another expansion to the series, NONE of there games would havea sequel, all the games they have go with a huge storyline and plot, which are told through series of games. WC, WC2, WC3, then finally WoW to a lesser stance tries to tell it all...sorta
then theres SC and SC2, SC2 would DEFFENENTLY be an expansion and not a new game if thats what they planned.
its not like blizzard in any way to create a second expansion, theyve made tons of games and not once in history that i can think of have they done that. when D3 coems out, it WILL be D3, not a D2 expansion.
as for the worldstone, Tyreal destroyed it, not Izzy =/
i have a feeling the next chapter in the story WILL have to do with lillith [and possibly the "Uber bosses" perhaps a "Final battle of the ages where a hero stood against 3 of the most fierce demons" or something at the beginning, explaining that somehow they came back on earth for a final stance, etc etc
but yeah, diablo will obviously make an apperaence, thats like making halo3 have nothing to do with the halo's >.>
