Diablo 3 - System Requirements

The POSSIBLE system requirements for D3 are still up for discussion. When Blizzard lets us know more, it will be posted here.

Current Speculations:

#1: It is assumed that, as with all Blizzards recent games, that D3 will be Mac compatible.

#2: It is possible that if Blizzard uses the Warcraft/WoW engine or something similar, then the requirements will be fairly low. We can only assume then that the game would come out sooner than later, if they use an existing engine. In which case expect:

The system requirements for World of Warcraft:

PC:
Processor: 800MHz or higher CPU.
RAM: 256Mb or more.
Video: GeForce 2 or better
Hard Drive Space: 3Gb or more available.
DirectX 9.0 or above.

Mac:
Operating System: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or better.
Processor:1.0GHz or higher G4 or G5.
RAM: 512Mb or higher, DDR RAM recommended.
Video: ATI or NVIDIA video hardware with 64Mb VRAM or more.
Hard Drive Space: 3Gb or more available.

#3: If they spend alot of time on a new engine, and the Release date turns out to be mid 2008 or later, then it can be expected that they'll use the latest technology:

PC:
Operating System: Windows Vista (DX10)
Processor: 2.4GHz or higher CPU.
RAM: 1Gb or more.
Video: PCI-E ATI or NVIDIA video with Shader Version 3.0 Support
Hard Drive Space: 4-8GB
DirectX 10.

Mac:
Operating System: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or better.
Processor:2.0GHz or higher.
RAM: 1Gb or higher, DDR RAM recommended.
Video: ATI or NVIDIA video with Shader Version 3.0 Support
Hard Drive Space: 4-8 GB
---??How will DirectX10 games be ported to Mac??---

Current Concerns

- If the game is DirectX 10 only, will it be able to run on Mac?

If you have anything to add (comments or speculation) post here and we'll update it.

I doubt they will use DirectX 10, because that would make it hard to port over to a Mac. I think DirectX 9 is OK. Which would mean it probably wouldn't need Windows Vista.*

i hope they dont make the game a ultra godly engine because i want this game bad, but if i had to upgrade my pc, im at a stage were i gotta upgrade it all, power supply, motherboard, video card etc. sooo i really dont feel like spending 400 bucks to upgrade for d3. i hope its wow engine, or a lil above. but not hardcore.
