Welcome one and all, to the Diablo III FAQ. Any new thread that is created that can be answered in here will be closed upon inspection. This isn't to stifle conversation about the game, but it is to make the place a more "noob friendly" place. Below you will find everything we know about the game, and then some.
1.2 Disclaimer
We are in no way affiliated with Blizzard or Vivendi Universal. The below information is only what we speculate, what has leaked, and what we want.
2.1 What we know
What we really know about Diablo III is very small compared to what it takes to have a game. Truth is, there is very little known about the game, if it is even to exist. However, what we do know is the following.
- Blizzard has been hiring a completely new staff for the group that formerly worked on the Diablo and Diablo II projects
- Blizzard has bought many a new servers for game hosting. These have not yet been implemented into World of Warcraft
- Domain registration
- Renewed and added to the Diablo trademark
While it's not enough to say "yes, the game is defiantly being worked on" it is enough to give the lot of us hope.
2.2 Release date
As of right now, there is no known release date. Anywhere you look that says something about the release date, other than "TBA" or "unknown" is false information. Blizzard hasn't even confirmed that they are working on the game, much less giving us a release date.
2.3 Rumors

The first article is from a former employee, the second is from Gamespot. Blizzard has yet to actually deny working on Diablo III, but they have said that they have multiple projects in the works.
