| New Sega console? Do you think there will be, or should be, another Sega console developed and produced sometime in the future? If so, how long in the future, and why do you believe so? If not, why do you think there won't be, or shouldn't be? As much supporting information as you can come up with is welcome. RisenDeMoN Was Here

| SO Diatenshi.. you want them to bring back the original Sega or the Dreamcast and make games, or what?
I think the Sega Saturn should be brought back. That system had a few killer games for its time, like Gex and Panzer Dragoon, and Sonic 3D. The Sega was hugly popular when it was around, so maybe a new platform for it would do it justic.
Nintendo: Gamecube, Revolution, N64, Gb, GBA, DS, NES, SNES
sony: ps1, ps2, ps3, PSP
microsoft: xbox, computer software, XBOX360
sega: saturn, genesis, dreamcast, Genesis X
I want to see this soon..

Maybe they could figure out a way to pull gamers away from these mini-computers that are being developed and make something cheap. I think if they made a high quality system which cost relatively little compared to these new beasts coming out, they could really steal a lot of the gaming market back for consoles.

| no, i really mean the Saturn. Bring back all the Panzer Dragoon games for it. The Saturn first had the Panzer Dragoons on its system until Nintendo put it on Gamecube.

| I think they should bring back more than just the Saturn games though. Genesis had some of the best Sega games on it, ever. If they do make a new console, making updated versions of their old games doesn't seem like a bad idea whatsoever.

| Remaking ANY Panzer Dragoon game will be worth it to me. That was my favorite game on the Saturn, no matter how times i beat it, it was always challenging.
At the time, the graphics nwere amazing, and some of the scenerios in that game were marvelous. And pretty detailed.

| Personally, I think if they want to get back in the console wars, they'd be better off starting with handhelds. The DS and PSP are nothing too remarkable as it is, and if that's the quality of handhelds they put out in the future, Sega could easily make a handheld system that'd blow them out of the water. I think if they focused more on gaming, and less on cell phone compatibility, downloads, ROMs, media, MP3s, and all the other crap that there are already devices for, they'd be ahead of their competitors in that area, and get a good reputation again plus their name back out on the market.

They did. See, Segas thing is they were always way ahead of the times. Dreamcast prooved that. That and Game Gear. It would be YEARS later until Nintendo finally made a handheld that had the 128 colors that the GameGear had.
Theoritaclly(spelling) the GameGear was better than the GB at that time in every way, except the battery usage. It had better hardware, better controls (debateable...kinda) and a better game selection (again, debatable...) but it flopped because they didn't market it enough.
Segas problem had always been the market. They never marketed any of their shit good enough. The would market a key game or two, and the system. Meanwhile, Nintendo or Sony would market 100's of games, and hardly ever market the system itself.
Shame Sega's hardware company had to fold like it did. They were the Genius' of the gaming community |

| Sega was always ahead of the time, but as Souless has said, they failed in marketing. I read an article with someone from Sega where he said they spent too little money on marketing.
I think they should never get back into the console business, they've tried...what 3 times to bring out a console (handheld and home-system) and failed. I see no business gains for them, especially with such a bad reputation.

-Frank  | no they tried 4 times (sega master system, sega genesis, sega saturn, sega dreamcast) and two handhelds that folded.
Sega is not coming back. They wouldn't even be able to make roms due to copyright with other companys. cause of course any morons know ROMS ARE ILLEGAL. |
