| Free Classics! from revolution Quote: |
Wow. Good move. When we spoke with Nintendo about the price of their classic “emulated” games on the Revolution, they were coy and left the pricing up to our imaginations. I assumed they’d follow the GBA model — 10-12 bucks for a classic would be fair. But George Harrison of Nintendo just sprung a surprise. Classic Nintendo titles will be free. Buy the console, take it home, plug it in and start playing your old faves. They’ll have to be careful not to offer too much out of the gate. After all, you want people to spend money on the software. But as far as exciting services to offer with their new hardware, it’s hard to come up with a better idea.

| Now, define "The Classics". Like, old school Super Mario Bros for the NES? Or like Super Mario RPG? Or Super Mario 64? They're talking about letting the NES roms be free, right?

This after an X-Box owner and anti-Nintendo fanboy tells me that its better to just have the stolen library on his silly, bulky system *waits the flaming idiots* (Note: I'm not insulting the system .gif) I just like to have a little fun ^_^ ).
I don't know what Nintendo will finally end up doing. They might have games from the Nintendo franchise given out for free then present a low fee for non-Nintendo games. From what I can tell, they are working on downloadable versions of Crono Trigger, the Final Fantasies, and other titles too great in numbers to even try to name. They may well translate some games, like Sailor Moon: Another Story, Star Ocean, and Tales of Phantasia (again...to many to list).
I like Nintendo's strategy here. They are offering free Internet play and free access to...I'll say "certain" for now, games to play, emulated, off the Revolution.

| Who knows, because hasn't been said that the Revolution will NOT have a hard drive-like adaptation? You'd really have to fork over some dough for memory cards. But, I'd assume it'd work just like any emulator, load em up and go.

| Actually, Nintendo hasn't released nay or yay on the hard-drive. You can make an inexpensive hard-drive the proper size for the Revolution. You have to remember that the specifications haven't been released. Why would you say something so ill-informed?
Yes. I would like SM:AS. Your point, Wingy? It is a good game.

| Oh, didn't know it was or was not said, read it on IGN's list of "Known facts about the Revolution" and I'm pretty sure one of the questions asked was "Will the Revolution have a Hard drive" and I'm pretty sure the answer was "no".

| IGN doesn't know their thumb from their anus, and one or the other often ends up inside the one not named O_o; Yeah. I hate IGN's anti-Nintendo fanboyism and contribution to anti-Nintendo fanboyism. I would not take anything they say to heart. The only things known about the Revolution are that it will be WiFi, backwards compadible, have NGC controller and memory card slots, and be able to emulate NES, SNES, and N64 games.
There are no "new" controller or memory card slots on the Revolution. The size that it is still allows for a small, iPod sized (ie: 5Gb to 20Gb) hard-drive and blue-tooth. Nintendo is being a fair bit tight-lipped about their next console. As they were for both Dolphins prior (became known as N64 and NGC), they are being careful about how and when they release specifications.
Will there be a hard-drive? I don't know. I do know that I won't believe a thing IGN says.
:P Wingy. I've beaten the game like three or five times ^_^

| I'm basing my estimation for the price of the Revolultion on this:
Hard-Drive (40Gb @ $15)
WiFi transmitter (802.11G+ @$10)
BlueTooth (30ft @ $15)
NGC Compadibility (ports and emulator @ $8 or ports and Geko @ $12)
IBM Processor (unknown specifications @ $35)
ATI Video Card (unknown specifications @ $60)
$113 - $117
Programing and Other Costs (@ $15)
I'll say that it'll cost Nintendo $150 per unit to produce the Revolution if it has a Hard-Drive. The great thing about Nintendo is that they made deals with IBM and ATI to get the processor and graphics card (respectively) at as low a cost as possible. This means Nintendo can make a profit at a mere $200. It's more likely, however, that the system will be released at $250 or $300.
