Dealing with PlayStation 2 disc read errors

Yeah mine was over 2 years last christmas and it started not really wanting to read discs at all like no disc read error just it wouldn't detect my games. will the thing you said help it?

never mind, i did it and now it works fine. Well, it doesn't want to read all of my dvd's but it will play every game without question.

well seei went and bought the newer smaller model ps2......does the method apply to it also or do i haft to do somthing different? i havn't had probs yet but just wondering

well your first mistake was buying the newer one :hbut if you like playing for multiple hours at a time. first, it has no fan really so it will heat up faster. and second the laser is right at the top so you don't really have to take anything a part to clean the lens.(thats the good side). If you want to move it you might want to transport it without a cd in it... 'cause my friend brought his over and ruined it cause he left a cd in it.

When I was younger, my brother would like the Playstation disc, lol and it worked. If all else fails, lick it ;D

So it heats up faster, what is your point? I've played games for a solid 10 hours and mine never overheated.

My PS2 actually did keep saying DISC READ ERROR after like three months after I ****ing bought it I took it a part and sprayed that air can thing that cleans out dust. Then it read PS1 discs but not PS2 or DVDS. so I sold to some idiot for $150.00

mine screws up sometimes on the ps2 discs that have a blue backin which gets anoyin

i had 4 ps2's then when the 4th one read disc read error i gave up on ps2's and got an XBOX. never had a problem with it... hooray for xbox
