| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face DMC4, having never played a DMC game before, seemed like the developers added a bunch of cool flashy stuff and sacrificed things like good game play and a reasonable story.

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face Did you actually play it through to the end? Because the new mechanics and the twists on old ones actually rock.
Nero's Devil Bringer yields a whole new dimension to gameplay, allowing for flashy, stylish, and devastating combos.
ALL the characters look better than ever. Jesus God, Trish looks good.
Enemy design is creative and intimidating, those enemies that are supposed to be intimidating, that is. Boss fights are fast-paced and require a measure of skill to survive, even if most of them are reduced to pattern fighting after a while.
Sound effects and music are very very loyal to DMC 1 and 3, something that makes me very happy. One of the battle musics is actually a remix of Lock and Load.
Everything runs smoothly, looks gorgeous, and is fun as hell. I'm seriously in love with this game. Not with the Blitzes though. I hate Blitzes. They're awesome as hell, but Blitzes suck. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face never played the others, but this one ****ing rocks...just beat it, and about broke my system out of anger like 20 times...blitzes aren't bad, but some of the boss battles are ****ing insanely difficult

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face I'm a Lucifer/Pandora Dante, baby. Deadly dance of awesomeness that cuts enemies to shreds...sucks vs bosses though lol.
Yeah, you played Son of Sparda difficulty yet, Isaac? It's no picnic. Enemies are everywhere, where you wouldn't expect them. I encountered my first Blitz in mission 3. First set of Assaults in mission 2.
And I have yet to play a more infuriating boss than mission 11's Sanctus on SoS mode...once you break his shield he flits away like a little pixie, and after a few seconds he flies inside the Savior for a big punch, then comes back out with full shields. It took me 20 minutes to get his last sliver of life because getting my hands on the slippery little ass was quite difficult.
Edit: And how much did Unbreakable (secret mission in mission 15) suck? It's harder than it sounds to kill two batches of Chimera Assaults while avoiding Faults, without taking a single hit. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face Yeah, I just shudder to think of Sanctus on DMD.
But yeah, I managed to pull off Unbreakable using the Youtube method: walk around along the edge of the circle and keep firing your shotgun. If you don't lock-on, it autotargets the nearest enemy, so you can knock em down and keep them off you. Have Trickster leveled up and equipped, so that if they get too close you can jump, jump, sky star away and keep firing. It's boring and kinda slow, but it's the only way I could do it.
One of my failed techniques that ALMOST worked was to start off by Stinger x3 each Chimera seed in the first round to kill it before it could infect the Assaults, and then shoot the Assaults with Pandora while staying constantly mobile in Trickster. Then for Round 2, I tried to pull off a fully-charged Omen...but could never pull it off, it's too slow. Argument ALMOST sealed the deal for me, but against 3 or 4 Assaults it just didn't finish them off and half the time I'd get shot down.
The Coyote-A is probably the best weapon in the game, really...albeit one of the most boring. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face Max-Act's timing has to be freaking perfect, so it's really better as a fluke happy than something you rely on. Still pretty sweet though.
Pandora isn't too hard.
Chaingun - Gun attack while in the air.
Bowgun - Gun attack while on ground. Short range, good damage/knockdown.
Bazooka - Hold gun attack to create Bowgun form, but don't release to fire it. Move the left analog stick twice in the same direction to turn it into the bazooka form.
Laser Cannon - Execute bazooka form, but keep holding the gun button and rotate the left analog stick twice in the same direction. Pandora becomes the big laser cannon with godly range/power, and upon transforming deals one light hit to anything RIGHT up on you. Keep holding gun attack to charge, and let go to BLAST!
Mobile Artillery Battery - In Gunslinger style, press Style Action. Pandora becomes the big gunship with multiple cannons, and you can press Gun to fire one missile, and Style to fire a missile from each barrel all at once. Also of note is that while in this form, Dante stays at the altitude at which he entered this form, and he can fly until the Disaster guage is depleted.
Razor Boomerang - In Gunslinger, lock-on and press/hold Away + Style. Dante throws Pandora at the enemy in a boomerang style, and if you hold the button down it'll stay there and rip at the enemy until either the Disaster guage runs dry, Dante gets hit, or the enemy dies at which point your lockon will shift to another enemy and Pandora will fly to that one. Oh, and switching styles/guns stops it too.
Omen (opening the suitcase) - In Gunslinger, lock-on, press Forward + Style. Slow animation, but Dante pops the suitcase open in front of him, releasing a big light blast and dealing uber damage to everything around you. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face No prob bro, remember though that you have to purchase the laser cannon from the upgrades menu, and you don't get omen until you buy Gunslinger level 4.
Beating DMD difficulty unlocks two new costumes, Super Nero and Super Dante, which look pretty much the same but grant you unlimited DT guage at the cost of a small mission ranking penalty. You can select them at the mission menu at the same area where you could choose normal or Automatic mode.
DMD mode ain't easy though...enemies are more aggressive, deal more damage, have more HP, and if it's anything like DMC3, if you let them live too long after they spawn they'll sorta DT on their own and become way stronger and more durable. I'm not sure if they DO have their own DTs like in DMC3 though...I haven't played DMD yet, I'm only on mission 15 of SoS. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face Unlocks moar stuffs. =)
Like Super costumes, game clear bonus art, and a few other unlockables.
Oh, and btw there are two difficulties I haven't mentioned yet:
Heaven or Hell - One hit kills anything. Bosses, enemies, you...anything. First featured in DMC3, guns are the way to go here.
Hell or Hell - One hit still kills you, but enemies are just like normal, including bosses. You have 3 Gold orbs the whole game and can't buy more. In other words...you have to be hella good to play the whole game without taking one point of damage. DMC4 is the first game in the series to feature this ridiculous difficulty. |

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face Iv only played the Demo to DMC4. Very fun imo. I would like to Play the first one just so I can know the story etc. Might not happen for quite some time since I am going through MGS so I can play the 4th one when it comes out.

| Re: Devil May Cry 4 > Your Face i rented this game and took it back that night cause it was so retardedly easy compared to the previous three.
wanna talk hard? rip through the first game on the hardest difficulty.
this stupid "hell or heaven" mode is retarded. and anyone that wants to spend that much time trying to beat this game on that mode is stupid. |
