Frustrated with Halo PC

Hey everyone,
Well I recently had the privelege of being able to call the fine support people at Microsoft because of the fact that I lost my the cd to the copy of Halo PC which I hadn't played for awhile so I decided to get it out and play MP. Well as I said my cd is lost so I borrowed my friends and what do you know I got an error after the new patch (1.07) was dwnled and installed. It said error incorrect cd key we suggest reinstalling or something along those lines. Well when on the phone with the truly "brilliant" guy there, he said I should just go buy another copy..... I bought mine when Halo had first come to PC and it was $50 why should i go spend more of my money for the sake of Microsoft especialy since so many don't (aka: piraters) and I have which makes me a loyal customer to Microsoft, why should I be punished for that,? Hell they should be thanking me I didn't go rip it off from one of my friends or the internet. Anyway enough of my ranting, does anyone here know how to fix this if somehow I can still play online and stuff, I do still have my cd key so thats not a problem I just need to get past that error.

i woudl suggest downloading the game froma torrent [dont ask, we cant help yout here] and install it that way, using your already purchased cd key
