X-men Legends 2 errors help

I have got this X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse game. I can play it fine up to act 4 then it locks up. I exchanged it for another one at EBX, and the thing still locks up. Tried it on my friends PS2, same deal. The underside of the disk looks clean, no odd swirls, scratches, marks of any kind.

Anyways, I don't have the reciet anymore, and my local ebx now thinks I'm ripping them off somehow.

My question is, is their a way to tell if the game will work or not when I get another exchange? I'm rather tired of redoing this game.

It's most likely a corrupt save game. Start over and try again.

I have everytime I exchange the disk .... now on restarting with game 4
