Odd glitch or something in GTA:SA

Okay this might be alittle long.

I dont know what happend but as i was playing gta:sa i went into the ganton gym and spawned a jetpack then i tried to fly around and realized i couldn't so i went to the door and i started flying upwards into black nothingness.
So i started to fly around and try to find something and the black start to turn gray untill i landed on what seemed to be the ground, i could see people and weapons but i couldn't see any cars or buildings.
I then started running south east and it was like i hit a wall, so i tried to fly up and it alowed me to fly over it like it was a building.
Fast forward a couple of minutes, i saw land, it was a small peice of land but it had a coulpe of buildings, a road, street lights, people ect. . .
I then tried to continue and go past the land and i ended up finding invisable water, i knew it was water because when ever i decreased my heighth and i saw a splash of water.
I gave up trying to find anything else and i just found some solid land and killed myself.
It reset me back at the Hospital in Jefferson, I looked around and saw the same building i saw on that land, so i went over to it and it turns out it was the place that you have to go to with bigsmoke and at the end your on a bike, i believe the mission is called Just buisness, The first part of that were you have to kill the people in the building is were i was at in the black and gray place but when i looked at the map it showed that i was as far as you could be from LS when you go south east.

Yeah.
It was odd.
Has this happend to anyone else?

Yeah it is a glitch, it happens quite a lot with the jetpack. The game isn't really too messed up, there are just glitches that exist.
