| Skipping School I got the idea for this thread after managing to skip an entire two weeks of school without penalization. I also thought about it after reading that Tweak, in his infinite wisdom, managed to skip his French class for a healthy amount of time.
So, how often do you guys skip school? And when I say "skip" I mean foregoing school without any legitimate reason. So, that would not include vacations, the flu, appendectomies, or anything like that.

| With skipped school days and missed days (to sickness) I totalled a hefty amount. I always caught up and stuff, though. However, the authorities said if I miss like four more days of school I will be unable to graduate and all my credits that I got this year would be void. |

| I skip more than most people at my school. I've missed 25 days this year in total, and 28 last year. At my school, a vocational school, we get our credits held until we make up time after the limit. The limit last year was 5 unexcused absences per 9 weeks. This year it's 3. You need a doctor's excuse to be excused. Not a note.
If it were like regular school I could get away with missing more school. But since I have to make up days every so often I can't. I am a chronic skipper. I can't miss any more days or I'll be making them up after graduation..

| I do it all the time.
Most I have skipped is over two weeks.
I got in trouble today and had to talk to the vice-principal for missing seven ICTP classes.

| About 2-3 times....a week. that's when i was still in 1st and 2nd yr highschool. seriously skipping school is easy here because teachers are to lazy to ask for an excuse letter and if they did i just make something up. |

| I skip my 7th period class all the time because it is the last period of the day and I don't need the class to graduate. In the last two months I have had more than 30 absences in that class. I enjoy most of my classess though so I don't skip the other ones very often unless I have a good reason to.
My dad is a doctor, so getting excused is easy for any class minus the 7th period one in which my teacher just doesn't care. She prefers it when I am not there, because I am too much of a distraction when I am. |

| One, maybe two days. I used to ditch class more then most people skip school though. Maybe 2-3 times a day if that. I only got caught twice, but they pulled up my record and said, ''How the **** do you have 56 abscenses in 4th period?!'' So funny. |

| Two days.
I had a terrible headache and my mom said it didn't count as being sick the day before; so pretended to be even more sick and she let me stay.
I'm pretty sure this doesn't count, but I managed to loose about two weeks after we moved. The first week we were getting adjusted, then there was March Break, and after the break it took a while to get my registration sorted our. I caught up though, this school is sooooooo easssy. >D

| *Added 'Never skipped' option*
I used to skip out once or twice a week to go out to a restaurant down the road from our high school. Back then it scared the shit out of me since I'd always been one of those scared dumbasses, not wanting to get in trouble. Anyway all my Senior friends managed to get me into class fine, and would sometimes help me out with a pretty good-sounding excuse if the teachers started to give me shit.
In my highschool, teachers actually listen to Seniors as if they're adults.
By Senior year, school was a friggin joke. Thank God I graduated when I did though. I heard after my class left, they installed security cameras, started locking the doors after 8am (so you'd have to get let in by a teacher), and turned the place into a ****ing prison when the town elected a new administration.

| Eh, I'm actually not at school right now.
My school requires doctor's excuses after 14 absenses. So last year I had 14 absenses and this year so far I have 13.5. At school, pretty much no one questions the kids in the "gifted" program so I can wander around school whenever I want and go wherever I want to go. |

| I don't think I ever skipped school since HS. Certain classes I have skipped.
