| Firstly, learn how to spell.
Secondly..which is on topic, I have no religion. Although, I don't worship anything at all, I cannot say one way or the other if a god exists or not. I can have my ideas and thoughts about the subject, but I cannot disprove nor prove it. I don't know the absolute truth and will never know until the day I die. Same with everyone, no matter how dedicated you are to the religion you choose. There may or may not be any god(s)...but I don't worship any or take interest in practicing religion.

Oh for the love of God, he didn't read the forum rules !
Son, in order to encourage serious and effectual discussions in this forum, all post, especially the one starting the topic, must be elaborate, toughtfull (unlike Korritke), and if possible, free of speeling mistakes (unlike me).
So this will be moved to the trash foru.... err, I mean, chit chat. |

| Believing in faith is like being in love, and taking the benefit of the doubt that you haven't experienced either, the feeling is like it lifts you up on to wings. Religion is the outstretched hand that picks you up when you've fallen. Having a faith, often takes leaps of faith, and there are those who believe that those who do not, when they die - will go to an eternity of suffering.
Do I believe in heaven? Yes. Heaven, though not a physical place is a state of mind for me. That when I conquer my sins and transgressions I may finally come to this unwalked garden. Religion doesn't have to be real, but what religion does is teach you morals and how to live in society. Christianity teaches about the brotherhood, and teaches you to be selfless and loving in the society of Jesus and of the world.
Am I going to heaven? Yes. As I see it, if we live a life in a isolated dark room and think nothing, we go to heaven. We go or don't go to heaven based on our choices and decisions, and if we make bad decisions, we make sins, and without repentence - hell. If we make good decisions, or bad with repentance - heaven. I prefer the latter; I prefer a sense of hope in life that all will become good and well after this lifetime of suffering that is not only throughout my life, but the lives of others and the whole world in general.
Who gives a shit about religion? As of September 2002, roughly 6 billion.
Edit: chit-chat eh, what a waste of time

| As myself I believe that people have the right to believe in what they want to.
I think religion is used to keep people from believeing the truth in what science teaches us about human creation and such.
Religion installs fear into people who believe in things like the after life and it is as if it is used to control peoples lives and what they do.
Religions=Cults.

| Is instilling fear so bad? IF you could stop mass violence simply by telling people if you do wrong you go to hell so wrong?
Mankind has proven itself incapable of doing good without some sort of reward in mind. |

I choose not to participate in religion, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a god. As I said... no one really knows.

Mankind has proven itself incapable of doing good without some sort of reward in mind. | Well look what religion has done to this world(wars, terrorism and whatever else) wouldn't it have been better if there was no such thing as religion in this world or any world out there.

At least with the fear of God in the majority of the world it is relatively stable.
The extremist groups are a small group, remember that. the entire islamic religion itself is incredibly peaceful. |

And the extremist groups are only that way because of how they feel being threatened by another cultures religion.
Take religion out of the world and it would be a far better place.

| Netxenur, you are what i used to be, Agnostic. you dont know if there is or isnt a god, nor do you care.
i use to consider myself athiast, but then i learned of the word Agnostic, and discovered that is what i was called. but things have changed in the recent past
some things have happened in my life, that i believe SOMEONE had something to do with. i will not bore you with details, but to make a long story short, i went from agnostic, to this:
i currently believe there IS something out there, but i do not agree with any religion that i know of. i do not have any specifics on beliefs, other then that i think SOMEONE or SOMETHING is there...somewhere...

| No, they feel threatened by the United States, and how they try and run the world in the name of democracy and the hunt for oil to fuel the largest producer of greenhouse gasses. Majority of problems in history stemmed from those who do not believe in religion coming in and slaughtering people. Then they would understand and find a god and you have a religion where everyone could worship and they would essentialy understand that bettering themselves, would lead to a perfect afterlife.
It has been interference from western world that has caused extremists to lash out at them in the name of religion. |
