| Post of the Moment* Here's a tought : the people of Irak, who will today vote under the threat of being blown to smoking pieces, gunned down, or abducted and executed, will probably have a higher voter turnout than in the USA or Canada.
Or maybe not. Still, its going to be interesting to watch. I have a question, would you be an Iraky, would you go out today to vote ??? |

| I wouldn't. It's like putting a gun to your head and telling you to vote. |

| I wouldn't want to go vote, only to be blown up by a suicide bomber.... I'd be the suicide bomber...

| If you want the risk of being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, why not vote?
After all, you will be 1 of the 10% if Iraqi citizens who do vote.
89% of the remainder are probably fighting.*

| i would. only 40 something people have been killed because of this. i expected much more. wasnt there a promise to bathe the streets in the blood of the people who voted or something like that? yeah... 40 some deaths aint half bad for such a major thing. Quote:
The electoral commission said it believed, based on that anecdotal information, that turnout among the estimated 14 million eligible Iraqi voters appeared higher than the 57 percent that had been predicted, although it would be some time before any precise turnout figure was confirmed. | ill bet they at least hit 60-70%
hell our presidential election only had 60% voter turnout. id say the iraqis are doing pretty damn good with all of the threats that been goin around.
