Music

I never grew up listening to music. I would never go out and buy the newest albums from my favorite band. I would never watch the channels playing the hottest music videos. I would never turn on a radio to find the station with my type of music. Hell I don't even own a radio outside of my car radio.

Though I can tell you right now, I listen to music avidly. I have close to 7500 songs on my computer, and that is just a token of what I wish I could have.

My love for music didn't start in 1988, nor did it start in 1998. It started when I was 15. March 2003 marked my 15th birthday, and through some influence I had dropped enough hints and was given my Minidisk player. If u would like to know, a minidisk player is a hybrid, not an mp3 player and not a cd player, but holds more songs than both combined(except the ipod, damn 20 gigs).

But why did I want a Minidsik player? I had never in 15 years listened to anything I can really relate to, and nothing that got me interested past one song I may have heard that I kinda, sorta liked. I could never connect a song and a band or an artist, cause I didn't care. But that changed 2001. I had never liked Metallica, which was odd cause I only kne wthem through name and never heard anything from them. Actualy the first time I ever even heard a song by Metallica was on www.stickdeath.com which in early grade 7 to late grade 8 was "the site" to visit cause it had the funniest shit back in the day. You can see the Animation here http://www.stickdeath.com/ under 5MOCA(5 minutes of crap animation). I liked the song, more than I thought I would, more than I ever really liked songs I have heard. sometime in 2003, I bought a new computer, and I had downloaded "Whiskey in the Jar" of course, cause that is a song I really liked at the time cause it was really the only song I ever listened to multiple times. not to long after I got my computer, I heard my my brother Play "The Unforgiven II" by metallica. I'm like shit, that is a good song. So I tried to Download it, and ended up with "The Unforgiven" which was 10x better than the last two metallica song i heard.

Finaly after downloading several videos off Kazaa. I downloaded a video, which pretty much were split scences from various cinematics from both "Resident evil 2" and "Resident evil 3". The Background music was "The Kids Arn't Alright" by The Offspring. That day in 2003, I downloaded 24 songs by Metallica, and aroung 15 songs by the Offspring. I then proceeded to go through my brothers collection of music, and I was hooked. In the 4 months before I turned 15 and got my minidisk player, My computer went from 8 song files, to having 4600 song files. Obviously, I needed a way to play those songs. I had become hooked. I now listen to any band u can name.

I consider "Whiskey in the Jar","The Unforgiven", and "The Kids Arn't Alright" the Triumvirate, the three that were powerful enough to drag me into the desolite path of damnation.

and I really don't care if u care. SO please, in advance, go screw urself and have a nice day

The First CD that i purchased was when i was around 13, Blink182-Enema Of the State. The reason that i bought it was that there was a song (Adam's Song) that just stuck to me. Right there in those three minutes and a couple of seconds, it had described my life and what it was heading towards (hell, the apple juice lyric did happen to me). From there, i got into a band known as The Faint (electronic/dance/industrial) which my math teacher exposed me to. From that i started listening to a billion songs and ignited my Korn addiction as well as some underground music such as Codename:Rocky.

Every song that i listen to today is the result of listening to blink182 (even though they suck now) and hell, i don't know where the stuff i listen to will take me tomorrow.

There are 3 types right now. First one to come out, the disk i got holds 74 minutes. I got around 40-45 songs on a disk, and the thing came with 4 disks. There were 80 minute disks, which could hold only like 2 more songs than previous.

like 2 months ago, I bought a NEw Mini-Disk player. thing holds crazy songs. 1 gig per disk. I got 470 on the disk, and i still got 1/3 of the thing to fill.

In the winter of 7th Grade which was 2002 and me and my dad were going to my basketball games, we would always listen to "Whisey in the Jar" and I started love all of Metallica's other songs, then I finally got into the harder stuff. (which my dad doesn't like.) Then I just started listneing to all of this music, and now I can't stop listening to music, the only time I don't listen to music is in school.

My brother has one just because it records and he needs it for his conservatory classes. How much are they? I would think it would be about as expensive as just getting an iPod.

I grew up listening to music. My mom would always play it for various occasions. I grew up listening to old school rap, 70's funk, and some classic rock like Meatloaf and AC/DC. Later on I got into the whole pop scene somehow and listened to backstreet boys, n'sync, and even brittany spears. After a while I got back into the 70's funk, but then I started listening to more and more music from different people. I got into a little bit of rap (Eminem), and then eventually some rock like Papa Roach.

The turning point for my musical audibility was one summer at my campground when I was in the 5th grade. My cousin, a girl whom is 1 year older than me, loved Korn and Limp Bizkit. She introduced me to them and I immeadiately fell in love. After a while I got some Limp Bizkit and Korn CD's and started getting into more heavier rock (Korn related stuff). Then one Christmas I was at her house for a Christmas party and me, her, and her friend (hot ) went down into her basement and she played some Marilyn Manson.

From that day on I started venturing in and out of Manson's music. I loved some of it (Beautiful People) and hated other stuff by him. The more I listened to him the more I loved his music. Somehow I eventually got into Rob Zombie, and later on Cradle of Filth. I finally went metal head when I bought the Ozzfest: 2001 CD. That turned me on to all sorts of awesome bands.

The odd thing is I'm no longer a metal head, though I do enjoy metal still. Now a days I listen to a crap load of different and variously assorted music and music genres. It's crazy though because out of everything that I've listened to, the only genre I've NEVER liked was country..haha.

I've liked music for as far as I can remember (and that's a long time ). I started liking manson around the age of 13...which opened several new doors for me. It basically got me into the whole metal world...which got me into the goth stuff...industrial music...and so on and so fourth. Before then...I liked punk, lots of rap and other various crap...sadly. Now, I enjoy almost everything...except country and rap. My main musical tastes though, as of now are metal (melodic black, death), goth, industrial, and dark ambient stuff. Although...as I said...I like so many different things...despite what genre's they fall into
