| Shud i quit band?
Im in 8th grade and i am thinking of quitting band but i dunt know. i play trumpet
First, my band teacher is good and she yells at me if i dont come to 7:30 morning band and 4:30 PM jazz band. I really dont want to wake up at 7:30 in the morning and play band. Id rather sleep or study. It is really tiring and annoying. 4:30 jazz band is annoying because i never have a ride to go because my dad is at work and my mom goes to a docter every wedensday and monday. I tried once riding my bike, i almost got hit by a car and it was mad dark.. The band shedule is
Monday = Jazz band
Tuesday= Morning Band
Wedensday= Jazz band
Thursday= Morning Band
Today is wedensday and i cant go to jazz band because i cant carry my trumpet in this weather while biking.. Today its very windy and it is about to rain. Plus it gets dark at 5:00 PM here. so i cant ride bak.. its really really dark..
Do you think i should quit trumpet?

and if you dont have that much of appreciation for the music, nor the dedication, quit the band.

| I think any music class is bad.
I'd rather take the classes that I know that are going to have a lot of girls in it.(Babysitting, cooking, sewing, etc)

| Should you go to band?
You go to band or I'll stuff that trumpet down your throat. My jazz band got cut from our school's curriculum. And that band was my life. You be grateful that you have a school with such a nice music program. We were playing good songs, like "In the Mood," "Pennsylvania 6-5000" and "Sing, Sing, Sing." Now, we're playing Sleigh Ride and Jingle Bells.
And 1337 bunny--the best trumpet player I know is also one of the biggest stoners I know. Go figure. | |

| You whine about 7:30. Wtf? I have to wake up at 5:10 am if I want a shower before I catch the bus >.<;; 4:30 PM sucks though. That probably eats your day =X If you aren't dedicated and don't care, quit. | |

| haha you have to wake up at 5:30...i wake up at 8:15 take a shower, and make it to school at about 8:50 and wait for the 9:00 bell to start off my day.

| Get out quick. It only get's worse. By Highschool, they'll steal whatever time you have, you won't have a life cause they take it. And really, nobody ever says "Holy crap, you're in band, you are so l33t!!!". I'll tell you what I told my girlfirend "**** em".

If you quit the school band you should pursue instruction outside of school. Do you understand how ruthless of an instrument the trumpet is? My beloved funk and jazz would be nowhere without your instrument. My instrument is my mixer and turntables.... all music is good!!!!! Don't quit!!!!!! More Music!!!!!

| Why dont you play something like guitar or drums, seriously, where the hell is flute or trumpet gonna come in handy? Guitar and drums = ****ing fun, and dont forget teh chicks!!

Jazz and funk are musics that will get you laid my friend, and the horns are what jazz and funk are all about. Horns rule. Louis Armstrong anyone? Hello!!?? The trumpet is infinetly cool, so unless you don't like playing the trumpet, rip it up man!!!!!!
