| The Old Well, I just found out my great grandfather is probably going to die within 24 hours. I was discussing this with my grandmother and it's a bit of a double-edged sword. It's sad, of course, but I also feel kind of upset about being sad that he lived a full life (He's 94 years old), and done all he could ever have acheived. The man has owned 117 cars in his lifetime, and he's lived to see a new century. Those were pretty much his main goals, all he had to look forward to was death.
Although, he could live, but the chances are very slim, I'm truly worried about my great grandmother, I'm afraid she won't last much longer without him here.
All I ask is you pray for me.
EDIT- I just a call from my mother that he has passed.

I hope I won't be there in the end when you come around
How long will he last before he's a creep in the past
And your alone once again
Will you pop up again and be my special friend
Till the end and when will that be

| Ya, I knew him pretty well, we took him + my great g-ma to Coco's every other Sunday morning. It's sad, that's how it started, he was on the little scooter and turned too quickly too fast while trying to hold open the door and fell. He had a hip surgery to fix it, and I suppose that's how he died. The sad part is, everyone at Coco's wrote a big get well card and they all signed it and now he can't enjoy it.
However, my brother passed (at 3 1/2), 6 years ago suddenly, so I suppose that's why this is easier for me.

| I never met even any of my grandfathers (altough, my gmas are still alive, the older one is 87 years old)... Having the honor to actually meet a great grandfather is something I don't know, but I suppose it's as awesome as you described, and I'm sorry about what happened to you |

| My grandfather is 75, he got a bunch of medals for his accomplishments in chemistry during USSR years. He survived a car accident in which his wife died about a year ago. He is still holding up, he had an operation and he has problems with his leg and huge back pains but he is mostly alright. He still works at his summer house, painting the house, chopping wood, all that good stuff. I helped him out as much as i could this summer (my familie's summer house is like 15 feet away from his, they are in the same village outside of St.Petersburg)
Anyways IceDevil, i am sorry.

| I'm truly sorry, Frank. You sound like you were close to both your great-grandparents. He was a good man, and had a good life. But all things have to pass. 94 is a highly respected age to live until.*

| Well Frank, considering what you said that he had a lot of great accomplishments and didn't have much left to get done, I suppose he was just waiting for it to happen.
Just think about the fact that he's probably up there smiling. |

| My other grandfather died like 7 years before i was born, he was killed by a burglar. He was going back home and someone hit him in the skull with a glass bottle, he died shortly after. Those bastards were never caught.
