I have *another* problem. I use firefox but most people in my family are nubs and use IE. its having some ad problems. Ran ada-ware..nothing...here is a screenie of the problem.


The bar at the bottom is being dumb. And that Search bar. AHHH!!!!

Upgrade to SP2

Then.. once that is done.. you'll have to boot into safe mode ( F8 before windows loading screen) and run these programs:

Spy bot search and destroy
Adaware
Anti Virus

I would also teach your family how to avoide getting that kind of stuff installed on your computer by licking ads and "OKAY" buttons just to view a site. Sit down and have a little talk with them telling them about the dangers of having spyware installd on your computer. If you need help here are some dangers:

• Pop Ups
• Tracking cookies... that send info to sites so they know where you have been
• Keyloggers - Get logs of every key you press... in other words, steal Login info & CC's.
• Annoying unwanted toolbars

The reason to use Firefox is that it does not have the security flaws with ActiveX that IE has. Meaning when you click an OK ad, nothing will happen.

Possibly why..... But I don't know if you NEED SP2 - like Koritkke says, stay smart and you won't need it.
