how do i get footage on a digital camcorder to my computer? and is it possible with a usb cable?

Yeah, I think it is possible with a usb cable/port. And you would need a video editing program.

could i possibly use windows movie maker just to test it out b4 i buy a real video editing program?

You transfer it via USB/and or firewire. However keep in mind when you transfer video to your computer, it is uncommpressed, so it will take awhile, and be sure to have enough space on your hard drive.

I suggest making sure the video camrea is capable of using USB 2.0 or firewire. As transfering stuff over USB 1.1 can take a real long time.

i bought 2 digital camcorders bcus im gonna start makin vids and i do have a lot of spave 240 gigs... and what editing software can anyone suggest?

lol, not quite vc, but if i have the need for one, ill give u a call....me and my friends make videos and have parties and show them, they are funny =P

Thats what I use to import video, but I have an analog camorder. Still, it comes with editing software.
