My Sound Is Being Homosexual

BleH, I usually don't resort to begging for help on a forum with tech problems (I have my pride!), but here goes.

I recently reformatted my computer and reinstalled my sound driver (Im using onboard sound) and for some strange reason, every sound that comes out of my computer (Speakers) is playing twice as fast as it should. What the hell. When people talk, they sound like chipmunks, and when I play music, it's going way too fast.

Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

Lol, ive never heard of that problem, the only thing i can think of is that its something with your media player or whatever you use to play it.

His drivers might be ****ed or his actual speakers.... but I don't know much, like bored nerd, I haven't heard of that problem before.

nah ... just try reinstalling the drivers... and try some different speakers...

this is not even possible. you cant play something at double speed without having 50% of the output being pauses.

and thsi problem...how could it be the speakers, most computer speakers are only programmed to turn on, off, and display stats, ive never seen/heard any that can modify output speed.

Im not sure if its exactly double speed, but everything is playing way too fast -_-;. Its nothing wrong with any of my music programs; I've played files in Winamp and Media player, and I can hear the greeting sound when Windows opens, and they all have the same effect.

I know it's not the speakers, so I guess I'll fiddle with the drivers.

EdiT: Ok, nevermind, I just watched a video clip and the sound would go 2x for a brief period, then it would be silent for a brief period, like Korittke said.

I think his problem is that the pitch is turned way up. That can cause things to go really fast and make people sound like chipmunks.
