| I recommend Slackware or Gentoo (Gentoo will be a bit more difficult I guess), or LFS if you're at the point where you wish to take time to very thoroughly acquaint yourself with your OS. - actually, I frequently recommend Slackware to new users as well just so they're forced to get a bit more familiar with Linux...
SuSe, Mandrake, and Redhat are basically the beginner distros (though there is nothing wrong with them - they're all Linux, just aimed a bit more towards new users than other distros)

Yep... Thats my sigtar... I usually have more creative ones such as the one with pan and his mother, or the one with AxL and his penis size, or the one with bill clinton, or the one I used that was AxL ALTHOUGH I gave him credit for.
But AxL is being a baby so those four letters, and one period is my sigtar. |

| yes, It isn't expensive though. You are usally just charged like $10 for the cds, but you can just as easilly get the install files off the internet, and it is perfectlly legal. |

| Thanks. Right now I'm just kind of experimenting. So far I've tried SuSE (which I thought sucked), Xandros (debian based linux). Xandros is great...but I still want to try a few more distros. I ordered a copy of mandrake , and am going to also try out slackware.
Thanks for the help guyz@!11

| knoppix is easy as SH*(T to use.. its a bootable CD, no install needed. Only sucky thing is you cant have a RAID config or it wont work.
but other than that, its useful for learning linux without having to fully install it. Its also good for stealing windows passwords .gif) |

| Knoppix CAN be isntalled, but isn't primarily intended to be. Knoppix is great though- as a recovery disc, show disc, and portable version of Linux (it'll boot on almost any system, and doesn't require anything to be isntalled)
It's based on Debian, so you're better off installing that though...
Linux is great in many aspects, one of the most noteable being that it is essentially free. You can purchase CDs, tech support, manuals, pretty boxes, etc., but you can also just download cd iso's free and legally. If you're incapable of that, most Linux advocates would be more than happy to get you what's necassary, and even help you get things installed and running... linuxiso.org |

| I didn't mean exact address anyway. Wow...I live on the east coast. I'll figure out how much it would be to send it sometime. I probably won't make you pay anything unless it's like twenty dollars or something outrageous. And I still would either have to ask my parents about it or figure out how to mail it without them noticing. My mom at least would probably be like, "he's only acting like he needs an os so he can rape you".
...even though you probably are...

| Ahaha! Yess! I want your return address so I can sneak over to your house, and gaze in on you through your bedroom window. When you least expect it...and you bend over...BAM!1
Nah, j/k .
...or am I!/!?!?!
Err...anyway, I don't even think it would cost 5 bucks . It's not much at all.

| My bedroom's on the second floor. You'll have to have a realllly long dick.
But this is getting kind of off topic. I'll see if I can pull this off.
