| Greatest Receiver of all time and why Who do you think is the best receiver of all time? Tight ends included.
In my opinion, Steve Smith (with a good QB throwing to him) is the best receiver ever. He's only 5' 9" but he can catch it over a lot of cornerbacks, often in double and triple coverage. He hasn't been able to play like himself without Delhomme to force the ball into coverage this year, but when Delhomme's back next year I guarantee he's gonna have a sick season. Just look at his first two games this season, almost 300 yds and 4 TDs. Not only is he explosive off the line, once he gets it he runs defenders over like a freight train.
For further proof look at this. This is insane. Sick. ****ing rediculous. Who else can do this? Not Randy Moss, not T.O. not Marvin Harrison. YouTube - Steve Smith Play V.S. Texans |

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why Everybody knows the greatest receiver of All time is Jerry Rice. To say other wise is insane, he basically re-wrote the record books, only guy who compares is Randy Moss.

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why Steve Smith? There is more to receiving than speed my friend. I doubt any 5 foot receiver will ever be considered the greatest, that is too big of a natural weakness to overcome.
Anyways I haven't heard from him in like 2 years. He put up numbers for like 2 seasons.
Rice put up numbers for a Decade. Re-wrote the record books. Until Steve Smith touches one of Jerry's records, he isn't the greatest receiver of all time.

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why Im going to have to agree with zmoney on this one. I can't believe they would even let a 5'9 player in the NFL, much less let him play WR. As for current great players, Wittin has been amazing this season. |

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why Why does everybody suck the dick of the recievers with a good QB throwing to them? Jerry Rice wouldn't have had stats like that without Montana and Young throwing to him. Randy Moss wouldn't have stats like that without Culpepper & Brady throwing to him. Just look how ****ty Moss was in Oakland. |

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why There is a difference. THEY COULDN'T throw to moss in Oakland, then he ended up not wanting to be there and started just losing interest blah blah, and personally thats my knack against him. That he is always been know to slack off, lose interest, cause trouble and maybe not be the best team player.
But in defense of your point look at it this way, Ya Tom Brady is a great QB.... BUT since Moss's arrival now all of a sudden Tom Brady is having the best year of his career. So **** like that works hand in hand, maybe Montana and Young wouldn't have been so good if they weren't throwing to Rice.

| Re: Greatest Receiver of all time and why I watched sports science the other day on espn2. Jerry Rice's catching area is bigger than an elephant. |
