Odd sound problem.

ive had this problem for a LONG time. the sound is reversed on my PC, left is right, right is left.

this originally happened on the old Emachine i use to use, and i just ignored it, at ht etime all i really did was play diablo [without sound anyways] so it was no big deal, but as i started playing things like counterstrike and whatnot, it just became more and more annoying.

still it wasnt a big deal, i just used earbuds and switched them around to make up for it, but ive started using a mic, and well, those headphones arent exactly comfortible in the least bit to wear backwards. not to mention the mic doesnt normally face the right way [forcing me to mod my headphones every time i get a new pair]

i got my new computer, the one im using now, and believe it or not it does the same thing. left is right, right is left. i have the latest drivers installed and everything so its not that...ive decided it must be one of the programs i use [that i have used for a long time, diablo? counterstrike? SOMETHING must be doing it, becuase its happened on 2 computers now.]

anyways, ive tried multiple sources to help me fix this problem, everyones like "make sure you have updated drivers" even when i already say i have the most current ones. so ive come up witha new solution

has anyone ever heard of any type of program that will reverse the sound? i figure i can counteract the problem by re-creating it. if i can make/get a program that makes left right and right left, it will re-reverse itself, putting it correctly on my computer

so, anyone got any help for me?

If it's the same set of speakers, it could just be the stupidest wiring problems - especially if it is made in China. Try some junk speakers and see if you have the same problem. It could mostly be wiring.*

switch the sides they're on. you may also want to consider going to control panel, sound and audio deviecs, and making sure you have the proper number of speakers set in, it makes a difference

sounds like you are ****ed, but really:
Are you getting new sets of speakers or headphones/earbuds?
What is the type of speakers you are currently using?

@White and Nerdy: switching them around is what i used to do, doesnt work now that i use a mic as i already stated, because they are built to fit where if you switch aroudn it hurts like living hell and the mic faces the back of your head. also ive checked my sound panel alot, even set it to "Headphones", no help.

@Gimmi: ive more than quadruple re-downloaded the most up to date drivers for my soundcard, no help.

@Ignus: Every one of your comments have already been answered in my second post. ive gone through multiple speakers/headphones/earbuds, and i am currently using Logitech.

Sorry must have just read right over it. I also have a logitech set of speakers, 5.1 surround sound system. But they work fine and have never heard of a problem w/ them.
The only other thing I can suggest is to just move the speakers from the right side to the left side and your mic wont move so that wouldnt make a difference. Which you already did, so nvmd.
Sorry dude.

How does just switching your external speakers make it hard to wear a headset?

some are made to only be worn one way.

now, if i had external speakers AND a headset plugged in at the same time, heres what would happen:

i would hear sound that should be on the left on BOTH sides of me, sound on the right on BOTH sides of me, because i would have a L and an R on each side, mostly id hear the wrong sound though, considering the earbuds would be the loudest thing being that close to my ear.

i only use one or the other, 99% of the time a headset.

its hard to do that because headsets are made to be worn one way and one way only normally [unless you buy a cheap set]

if someone could locate a pair of headphones that are like cellphone headsets [earbuds w/ a mic piece connected to the wire instead of a piece that wraps around your head to hodl the speakers] that would be a great fix as well
