Bush to Increas troops by 20,000

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/...raq/index.html

Though I disagree with the war I think having that many extra troops should help stabalize the region a little bit. Your thoughts? opinion?

Dont agree with the war.. Dont agree with adding more soldiers.

I dont think adding more soldiers will stabalize things over there, it will only make things worse.

QQ more?

Soldiers are trained to be shipped out and used, it's part of their job. Shits me when families keep having a cry about it.

Obviously, more troops would help - you don't rush with one Zergling, you rush with twenty...

However, the mechanics of this war is not like Starcraft. The coalition forces are seldom attacking - they are stabilising the region by defending. Which is why more forces might or might not help.

However, I disagree with the war and sending more troops in would anger certain people in charge of the resistance to the occupation.*

Because their family have hearts? And I'm sure many of them don't agree with the war.

You'd feel bad if it was your brother going out there and he died for your governments poor decision making.

Yeah but seriously, i'd have the brains to at least realise that this was always a possibility. If he was in the army there's always a chance he'd be shipped out somewhere to do something, i'd just accept it and pray he comes back ok.

Adding more soldiers will just hasten some of thier deaths by adding more suicides. The real problem with this war dragging on is because terrorist cells are total stubborn mules and won't stop at nothing until the americans have given up.

I don't agree with war, but I also don't agree with the retards saying "OMG THEY ARE GOING TO DIE OMG". Holy shit, they "volunteered". They weren't forced to join the Army. They either made the concious choice to join the Army, or were too retarded to know the difference (at any rate should be killed), so it isn't like they didn't know that they could die.

Hard to say, they would have to get to the battlefield to find out. However, you are right in the sense it is a life decision.

You can't join the Army during a war and not expect there to be some level of danger.

Maybe so, but that depends where the soldier is located. There is a difference of danger in say the open fields vs a town.

Fair enough, but it'd be ignorant of you to join the Army either way, and not expect to experiance violance. It's the Army, not the Peace Corp.

Well it is a peace corporation, but they have to resort to violence to do it. And sometimes, an unlucky soldier pays the ultimate price in the fight for peace.

There is no such thing as pacifism. Not for the world or a war.

To the enemies and activists who think what they are stupid it isn't.

In the mind of a war hungry but somewhat corrupted president, it can be.

My friend told me that some soldiers joined because they get a full scholarship or something. I don't think they expected to go to war. *
