For your information, "canada" meant "village", in the amerindian dialect used to communicate with the european settlers.

and FYI there's a Canada, Kentucky. I imagine, though, since he is a comedian the 'small town known as Canada' was a little bit of humor.

Notice how it says he was born in "Ladner, British Columbia, Canada." Unless they are putting different towns he was born at, which can't exist, it probably is a spelling error and not talking about an actual town called "Canada".
