| Seriously, I noticed that. There was this girl in my like 3rd grade class, and her last name Nguyen, and I remember seeing someone in the Guiness Book of World Records with the last name Nguyen and I wonderered if they were related. Evertime I read the name Nguyen I was like what the hell, everyone is related to her. Then I finally realized it must be a common Vietnamese name. |

| They must have a LOT of inter-family eloping.
But it's the same case with some Japanese names. Ever notice that the name Sakura (Which literally means "cherry blossom") is a very frequently occuring name? The same goes for last names - Tanaka is a hugely popular last name.

| Over the three years I've been at my school, we've had about 500 nguyens. Last year alonie we had two whole pages full of nguyens in the index for our yearbook, that's like two or three columns a page, about 185 or so.

Nguyen is the most common Vietnamese family surname. By some estimates, approximately 40 percent of the Vietnamese people have this surname.
| By the way, how do you pronounce "Nguyen"? Ni-goo-yen? Nyu-yen?
