Battleforums just isnt 2008. Each year, there was a noticable decline in activity after about 2005. Things didnt get apparent until 2007.

It was an inevitability. We wouldnt be discussing this if BF was like 2003-2004 every year.

Thats because all the people who came here for the blizzard games in 02-04 are still here and like to keep in touch with people they've grown to known.

Blizzard games are DEAD. WoW has its own forum so this is useless.... SC2 might bring back some activity but a bulk will go to the Real SC forums.

Its basically the same tards running around spewing the same **** in different ways. Including me.

The only differenece is we are older.

SC2 is a longshot that people are trying to pump up too many resources on. Sure its good and all, but what if THAT game is a bust? It would be just like FF7: Advent Children all over again.

you can make as many or as few a rules as you like, you can add or take away all the sections you want, have all the competitions you want, it wont do **** unless you actually have something to fill them with.

unofficial fact that websites that are just standalone forums, especially with nothing relevant or at all in them, dont last long. websites with projects, articles, helpfull tools etc. do.

i may not of administrated as many boards as a few of you have, even still dont get all backchatty with excuses, but the ones i did run or help run, that was one of the first things i learnt. this is basic **** and i dont see why people just decide to get all the piss easy things done first and do all the IMPORTANT **** when the magical day comes they have a spark of enthusiasm.

forget the forum skin, forget the ****en rules, all you need is a basic set or a list that could be writted out by a 4 year old in 3 minutes, for ****s sake, get rid of that ****ing membership scheme, inforce the rules PASSIVELY and unbias, dont make a scene of it or youre making yourself look like a tit against a regular member that might even be right.

HIRE AN ARTICLE WRITER if you cant write yourself, get some of those stickys and guides updated and possibly a few tutorials to get people reading. judging from what he says and from his willingness to put a stupid fancy skin up and a ****load of ads as soon as he could, sounds like he has plenty enough cash for it..

SEND A FEW EMAILS to see if you can strike a deal with some older blizz game mod teams to help distribute their apps for a mention,

MAKE SECTIONS that are in demmand in the begining or reopening phase, it doesnt matter what the ****, any traffic is better than nothing. if a section has traffic, DONT delete it like Max did the Music section. what a ****..

DELETE OLD crappy irrelevant sections that nobody uses as they clutter up the index page and draw attention away from potentially more traffic catching sections

PROJECTS. tournaments, mapmaking, etc. i know this bit is hard and can understand it if you really are trying and cant get it going at this moment in time, but that doesnt mean you cant try..

DITCH people who cant do their job or promise (this one does my ****ing head in), wether it be with respect for someone who has a legitimate reason for it, or just plain throwing them out by the scuff of the neck for people who are just plain ****ing lazy. anyone seen Donny? sorry, that was unrelated..

BY THE WAY, just because we're called BattleForums, doesnt mean we cant have non Blizzard games. like.. more popular games.. bring the site back up to date with non Blizz games, but keeping to its roots by keeping the Blizz games.. yeah?


I cant beleive im actually having to say this, im just a member, dont really come here that much, dont have that abig a voice here, running thin on patience waiting on something to happen here. this is all BASIC **** i learnt when i was.. what.. 13 back in the Unreal clan days helping run local clan / community sites? and what really takes the ****en piss, is that stupid paid membership page. what? is Donnt really expecting some hopelessly gullable twat to actually pay to view what we have here with and extended PM box and access to an even more secluded and probably dead section? he does realise what kind of message that gives out of him dont he? i mean, hes actually asking money from people for what we have here. i dont know wether thats ****ing rude or just one of those ''buy a coke vendor machine, set it up then come back once in a while to pay for more coke and collect the rediculously undeserving profit from the vendor'' type sites?
