If it came out of your pocket, then you could get away with an ad-free forum.

Webspace and vB don't come cheap nowadays.

as for the site itself, its a small price to pay for what you could turn this place into, especially when youre someone that thinks you could make money from posting a video of someone setting light to their fart on a website 2 foot deep in per-view and per-click media ads and forgetting about it for 2 years.

not saying i like suits, i ****ing hate them, but the end of the day theyre making tons of money for doing sweet **** all by being able to play the game, letting others do the work, then taking that **** over after..

It costs money to maintain the license as well. I also included the server costs into the equation.

That is just for the license. There are costs to maintain the server. And thats where the money drain pipe really is.

Adult ads are all removed as of today (been trying to get them removed since day one). I'm replacing the ads tomorrow anyways, along with all the popups, etc. Too troublesome.

As for how much it costs to maintain the site, here's a general idea:

It costs $180 for an owned vB license, then $30/year for renewal support/upgrades. It also costs approximately $1800 a year to host the site, along with development costs, etc. Overall, it does take some money just to keep the site running as is, but if we're going to try to make BF more active with contests and such, that's where the real expenses come out. That's why I always try to get sponsors for everything. If I can't get sponsors, everything else is coming out of my own pocket.
