| It is to be arrogant to even consider the fact of Aliens not existing. I know this has been explained above, but I'd like to give a little input on it. Think of it this way: It is supposed that the universe is infinite (Correct me if I'm wrong). Using this knowledge you can also theorize and hypothesize that If our Solar System is one of Trillions(and more), and the fact that approximately 2 planets in our Solar System are capable of sustaining, or have sustained life, then there HAS to be other planets out there that can support life. Maybe theres a civilization out there thousands (possibly millions) years ahead of us. Maybe they just haven't felt the need to contact us. Why would they? We're bent on incessantly killing our species. I know if I was an alien race, I sure as hell wouldn't contact Earth. You can also think of it a different way(This is delving a little more into philosophy): What is point of the rest of the Universe if Earth is the only planet that can sustain life? You can't really come up with a good answer (Post if you have one please).
Also time to get on the stuff pertinent to light travel, speed of light and so forth: The theory described that you cannot travel the speed of light, because in effect your mass would be infinite and would not be sustainable. This is just a theory (And I know what I'm about to describe is as well). What about the fact that light travels at that speed. Heh. Now I know I'm getting into stuff above my intellectual ability, so excuse how stupid I may sound in the next few sentences(and previous ones) but I'll try. I'm not sure if light has a mass (I assume it has to), but if it does then how is it sustainable, using that theory? Well it isn't but yet we have light and we have our universe.
Ok.

| the universe is expanding. so that means we can catch up to it if we go faster than the speed in which it is expanding. that means the universe isnt infinite. anyway there must be another planet that is capable of housing life forms. but what chance is there that they develop a life form answer that please |

| What was the chance that we would develope from what we did? We're here though aren't we.

| what did we develop from. the earth might be a uniqie planet for all we know. there might be no other planets that are the perfect distance away from the sun as we are or the perfect land conditions

| just an fyi, statistically its guarenteed that other life forms exist as humans as we see them, and that they speak a language similar to english. statistically. its guarenteed.
Now at flea, who said why havent we heard of them? Think about it. We dont see anything but light, and light travels at a certain pace. so for a planet say100 billion light years away, with the speed of light at about 300,000,000 m/s, theres 1600 meters in a mile, and 5.8 × 10^12 miles in a light year, well you can do can easily that it will take some time for them to "see" us. A planet 100 billion Light Years away would be peering through their telescope and seeing the extinction of the dinosaures or something and nowhere near man. |

| I almost thought you were Jenny from your avatar but I realise it couldn't be when I saw intelligence in your post. If I was a alien, I'd be more interested in the Dinorsaurs than our appearingly boring selves. Even if the human race was thousands of years older I doubt that we would pass off the chance of meeting a new race because they are 'below' us.
